Post by scottish fan »

 We plan to travel from Scotland to Vegas to take in a concert. What is the timescale between confirmation of concert date and gig?

You will USUALLY get at least couple of months notice! :)

Lets hope he schedules a Vegas show this year! Nothing yet, though. :-?

I'm hoping for a fall show, maybe in September or October. :-?

He's played Vegas the last two Saturdays in October for the last 2 years, at least, but that's no guarantee that he'll do it again this year.

But Sam's Club had a $30,000 package for Buffett in Vegas, so he's gotta play there at least once!

And it seems like the Vegas dates get leaked/announced earlier than they do for other venues.

I hope he does make Vegas... I ALSO hope that tickets will wait to go on sale when I get back from the Far Side of the World!

I will do Vegas over any show he does. Nothing is better then the Vegas shows. Plus its the only show I do not mind paying for because I get rooms for free.

I have heard from a very reliable source. A manager of several of the refreshment venders at Coor's Ampitheater, that Jimmy is coming in October. She was not given the exact date just a list of shows each month for scheduling purposes. The past couple of years San Diego and Vegas have been in the same week.

We've been doing the Vegas show(s) regularly for the last 8 years or so...and the Oct. 28 date it a very good (and quite likely) possibility.

The Halloween weekend in Vegas is well-known for being a relatively slow one. Word on the Strip is that Margaritaville is THE highest volume food and alcohol perveyor in Vegas - but when Jimmy comes to town it goes through the roof! So my guess is (being the consumate businessman that he is) Jimmy figures- given the choice- why not choose the Halloween weekend to come to town to keep the margins healthy. Any sane restaurant owner would do the same!

My vote is Jimmy will do Vegas on Oct. 28 (and quite possibl,y the prior Sat- Oct. 21 as well) . We've already got our rooms at the Flamingo reserved. We saved over $150 last year by hedging that bet BEFORE they announced. It won't cost you anything if it's wrong- just cancel it. Once they announce though- the prices will soar.

PHins uP for Vegas! :pirate: :wench:
