I'd love to hear Migration and some of the songs from Barometer Soup. My boat is named "Barometer Soup" and that album has some great tunes.
The Night I Painted the Sky would be a great encore. Agree that Brown Eyed Girl is getting old.

Not to ask a stupid question (though I am), where exactly is Jones Beach? I've got some intentions to visit the east coast sometime soon & might be interested in the tickets if they're not too far from where I need to go.

Thanks

Looks Like clint Won't be at the 6/15 show at Nissan Pavilion. He's scheduled to be on TNN hosting a live awards show. Wonder who will be added to the Band that night

jaacarver,
I heard a rumor that the "D.C. shows" will be the only summer tour stops where Fingers and Mac will perform. As Nissan is as "D.C." as the Buffett tour gets, I'm assuming, no PRAYING, this is the case. While alot of phans stated they enjoyed the cowboy accession, I personally abhor anything that
twangs or whines. I have yet to hear any coyboy or cowgirl singer that has not made me want to give them a hefty dose of morphine to put them and me) out of misery. I fully acknowledge this is my personal taste and there are those who listen to nothing but cowboy music. I am confident that Clint fans would not appreciate Jimmy touring with him and singing Caribbean R&R with Jimmy on the vocals. While they may be great phriends, phan loyalty should prevail.

Dallas,

Thanks for the WONDERFUL comment :) It's nice to see atleast ONE nice parrothead on here. My husband could not believe the bashing that was going on. He said these people must have VERY low self-esteem to be fighting over who's a better parrothead or who's a "true" parrothead!

It's also nice to see someone who also doesn't like the old country stuff! I've said before, Buffett is as country as I get, but WDWGDAS is as Buffett country as I get! I REALLY like his island/tropic songs. I also enjoy his swinging songs like Bob Roberts and Skip Wiley :)

BTW- I DO own the box set....I think 16 CD's of one artist IS a good collection! But I guess others think not!

OK maybe it is just me, but there are some things that are a little out of wac. Out of all the places on the web that you should be able to go and not here the typical every day griping and moaning, it should be here. I just wanted to see how much fun everyone is having on the tour, and it is alot of antimosity. DONT FORGET YOUR PRIORITIES AS A PARROTHEAD. 1. FIRST, LOVE THE MUSIC AND JIMMY. 2. SECOND, GET DRUNK. 3. IF GETTING DRUNK DOESNT DO IT, LIGHT IT UP. 4. BE GRATEFUL THAT JIMMY IS PAST 50 AND STILL TOURING FOR US!!, HE DOESNT NEED THE MONEY. 5. ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS OF THE CROWD BEING TO YOUNG IS CRAP. EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO BE A PARROTHEAD, YOU WERE ONCE YOUNG TOO! 6. DONT GRIPE ABOUT THE MUSIC SELECTION OR THE TICKET PRICE, BE HAPPY YOU ARE IN THE PRESENCE OF THE PARROTHEAD. 7. MEET AND PARTY WITH ALL OF THE OTHER PARROTHEADS, IT IS NOT TO OFTEN WHEN 25000 PEOPLE CAN ALL AGREE ON ONE THING AND SHARE A COMMON GOAL, ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN! 8. LADIES, SHOW YOUR BREASTS! 9. BE HAPPY. 10. ITS A BUFFETT SHOW, LIGHTEN UP! 11. (THE LAST ONE) DRINK SOME MORE!
I hope all of you enjoy the rest of the summer and have fun and safe times at the shows. if you cant go to the shows without complaining, maybe its time not to go, or find out again why it is you went in the first place. Peace and joy.
Chris

What a great show! Got too hammered on Thursday. Great songs to sing along with. Not too many SYKBH, but I'll follow him anywhere to hear Blonde Stranger. Not too sure about Clint. Nice hat, babe. ;-) The absolute best thing about Thursday was meeting my new friends from CT. (Thanks to Some Guy Named DAN!!!)

Can't wait for next year

ChrisMarcus: well, you had me nodding my head & agreeing...right up until #8. Nice try, though! (LOL) As for the cranky people, don't pay 'em no mind. Some of us have different opinions (that's what makes the world interesting) & know how to share them with out being hurtful. The rest of them get bored & drift away. Stay awhile, & play in our sunshine, Chris, you'll like what you see.

...come along, let's have some fun, the hard work has been done...

CM -- Agree with Ohio -- with you until your #8 suggestion, but otherwise agree with the easy-going tone of your post. Not to beat a dead horse, but I'm increasingly surprised at the posts on this board about how awful / disappointing the shows have been -- why do these people go if they're determined to have such a rotten time? Some of the notes about Clint Black sounded like people arrived there just bound & determined NOT to like it, because he's not Fingers, they hate country music, etc. etc. Now, I know virtually nothing about Clint Black & don't follow country music, myself, but it seems like the guy's developed a following on his own, has a tour of his own to do this summer, & had pretty short notice to join JB's tour -- why not give him a break? I think someone on one post had a very good point: people have been following Jimmy around for years & years, he's a great showman with a good sense of involving the audience, &, after 30 years (& the continued devotion of even the nay-sayers), it seems like it wouldn't hurt to trust his instincts. I went to the Houston show in December, & despite being indoors, sitting in nosebleed seats & enduring acoustics so bad it was hard to hear some of the dialogue, we had such a great time that those of us who attended the concert bored people at the office for days on end afterwards about what a wonderful time we'd had. Hell, I spent Thanksgiving in Indonesia because the only other week I could schedule the trip was during the JB concert & wasn't about to miss that!

Anyone who would like to protest this latest wrinkle by NOT using their tickets this year, take a moment to say so here & just see how many offers you get to take them off your hands. (Sorry to get on a soapbox, but when he's not touring in your neck of the woods as is my case, it becomes a little tiresome to hear constant complaining about having to sit through the same, damn boring show two or three or four times.... in outdoor venues, with tailgating, with all of the great friends to be found.) For those of you inclined to complain, I'd suggest taking a moment during the feeding frenzy to ask the question: would I rather be home in my jammies?

Dallas -- getting behind here, just saw the post about favorites. While I like everything, 'Boats' is my favorite from the box set (I bought it when it came out because it was the only way to get 'Love & Luck', which he performed on tour that year), & I was positively haunting the record store waiting to get 'Fruitcakes' when it came out, having heard 'Cousin in Miami' & 'Quietly Making Noise' beforehand; was delighted to hear that everything in between was wonderful as well. Those are both HUGE favorites of mine.....what's your stand on 'Hot Water'?

Well Duh, I knew there was something I liked about you...Boats and Fruitcakes, now that's the ticket. When 'Hot Water' was released, I was listening to Run DMC, Tiffany, Richard Marx, Donnie Osmond, Debbie Gibson, etc... Now, just to let everyone know, I was NOT taking drugs back then!! When I discovered Bubba's teachings, I could have kicked myself for not listening to him sooner. Ok, back to 'Hot Water'...I think the album is decent with a few great songs like "Bring Back the Magic," "Smart Woman," L'Air De La Lousianna," and of course "That's What Living is to Me." The CD cover is one of my favorites...I've been feelin like that lately.

Our first Jimmy Buffett show and, believe it or not my wife's first concert! AWESOME SHOW Thursday nite. Surprised by Clint Black, but not too disappointed with his performance. We sang every song (mumbled a few of the words), danced in the aisle, and loved every minute of it, including the tailgating( we were the ones with the very popular bathroom in the luggage compartment).
Just watched the Biscayne Bay video for the umpteenth time and I gotta say I really enjoyed the format of the HEADPARROTHEAD and great sidemen on that video more than the hyped up visual effects at Camden. Jimmy Buffett lives on and on and on PHOREVER!
Regards to all. pherdya
