yep...500 miles..for 3 years
here too. Much better way of getting that feeling of independence than spending the whole while living around the corner from the folks.
When I was in high school a guy on my block got married. He bought the house next door to his parents.

Now THAT'S just masochistic, I don't care HOW close you all are.

I have lived alone, off and on, in the past. Have lived alone since last June.
Actually love it more than I ever could have realized. Sometimes it's hard to find the balance between alone time and being out, but overall, it's pretty awesome!
Besides, I am too much a pain in the ass to have a roomie at this age

I lived alone from 19-24.....I LOVED it. I had this crappy little apartment in a crappier part of town for $125 a month. The landlord (or rather slumlord) didn't care what I did to it, so I really had fun painting and fixing it up.....I was sad to leave, but I bought a house.....same one we're in now!
I lived in the house for about a year when I met my husband....he moved in with his three kids....now THAT'S what you call culture shock.....

I got out of the Navy in 1979 at age 28. I lived alone from that time until 1997 when I was 45.
I miss it sometimes, I'll admit-especially the years I was in Hawaii.
But considering who I'm married to, I know I could've done worse.
Hell, I HAVE done worse

My folks "grew up and moved away" when I was 23. I lived alone until I was 30 and got married.
I loved living alone. I'm not sure I'd love it as much now, but it was great back then.

Who do you think chose "Other"?
I don't think I ever live alone even if I do, because the voices in my head are separate people, right?

What's wrong with Charm City? Fells Point and Jimmy's for breakfast at 3a.. The view of the Inner Harbour, a beer at "The Horse You Rode In On", a game at The Yards now that you can get a ticket..

18-26: lived in dorms, apartments, and had room-mates
26-32: lived in apartments, no room-mates
33-36: shared an apartment/duplex half with "The Tumour"
36.25: vowed that I'd never, ever, ever do that again...
36.28-40something: lived in an apartment, enjoyed the ability to come and go at will (tho really, just between work, the shop, the airport, and home...)
