Pope Meets With Jimmy Buffett

Pope Benedict XVI makes note of the UCLA Cheerleaders Uniforms
INDIANAPOLIS - In a historic summit, Pope Benedict XVI met with Singer/Songwriter Jimmy Buffett in Indianapolis on Monday.
Mr. Buffett, the spiritual leader of the world’s 12 million Parrotheads, said he hoped the visit would continue the good fellowship between the Roman Catholic Church and his followers everywhere.
Sources reveal that the visit was hastily arranged and initially held in secret. The initial meeting’s only attendees included the pontiff, Mr. Buffett, and a few select members of the Coral Reefer Band.
After a brief visit, the press was notified and a harmonious atmosphere ensued. The meeting marks the 40th anniversary of Buffett’s historic exit from his Catholic roots in Southeastern Alabama. In an overwhelming display of goodwill, the Pope offered his host a smelly bag of Bonefish, upon receipt of which Mr. Buffett was heard to reply, “Uh… er… thanks.”
While the true purpose of this visit remains a mystery, sources close to Mr. Buffett have hinted that the Pope merely wanted a private concert in exchange for absolution for all of Jimmy’s past wrongdoings and his public lambasting of the Catholic Church.
After the private concert meeting, Mr. Buffett treated the Pope to one final display of American entertainment – front row seats at the NCAA Men’s Finals between UCLA and The University of Florida in Indianapolis.
Witnesses in attendance have agreed that while the Pope showed little interest in the game, he seemed very concerned about the cheerleaders’ lack of clothing.
