Fingers' appearance on the Hoot soundtrack is no longer a rumor, it's been confirmed that he does indeed perform on the record.

Let's think about this.... :-?

He is on the Hoot soundtrack.... :)

He is playing at CIP in Dunwoody May 19 & 20....

His published schedule has NO conflicting dates with Jimmy's performance schedule for the ENTIRE TOUR... :P

He is scheduled to play at the Moonlight Gardens in Cincinnati on June 8 BEFORE (Noon-6:00PM) the show at Riverbend... :D

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck... :D

I would bet money that Fingers will be on stage with Jimmy this year!! :D 8) :D :pirate:

KD is, not Fingers. This years lineup in addition to KD: Boat Drunks, Junkanoo Brothers, Latitude, Jim Hoehn, Jack Mosley, Ray Fogg, Johnny Rodriguez & Terry 'Koz' Kozminski

And I would also submit that playing the pre-party at Riverbend could also be a conflict, since sound check goes on during the afternoon.

But I'd sure love to see Fingers on the tour.... Any part of the tour. :D

Trust me, Greg will not be at the Put-In-Bay Phlocking.
Here is their schedule, no mention of Greg playing.

I'm tellin' ya, he's gonna be there.... 8)

Certainly would go a long way toward filling the void left by the "departure" of the horn section. That might be why Jimmy had to leave them go, to afford booze for Fingers!

I sure hope you're right, and for the entire tour.
I agree that the dots are there to be connected and there's nothing wrong with being optimistic.

With Jimmy being one of two (I think) producers of the movie as well as doing the soundtrack, you have to think he had total control over decisions. The fact that Fingers is on the soundtrack (whether or not they were even on the same continent when they were recording) has to mean that some sort of reconciliation has happened :)

we'll find out soon won't we 8)

And didn't Jimmy say that there was a surprise for the tour or am I confused on that point?

He may play with Jimmy in Cincinnati, I have no info one way or the other on that topic. But, there is no logic in assuming because he is playing the pre-party he will be playing with Jimmy. They are separate events (kinda like the lotto; because I lose today does not increase my chances of winning tomorrow) and I can assure you it is purely coincidental. If he is playing both, I feel lucky that we were able to hire him and Ken for the event (feel lucky we got them anyway, but you know what I mean  ) and it will certainly be convenient for Finger's, won't it? :D

If Fingers is playing most everywhere except Alpine, I will be completely bummed! (But I will get over it - it's not all about me - and there's always Chicago!)

However, I hope from the bottom of my heart that Midnight Flyer is right! The harmonica of old really grabs me, and seeing old video of the 2 together is a real treat! My 1st show was in 2001, so I never got the pleasure of seeing and hearing the combo together live ~ I hope that changes this year! :D

And again, if not, so be it. I'll always have the option to listen and / or watch in the comfort of home.

I think he said on RM that there was going to be a surprise this fall... no mention of the tour, that doesn't mean the surprise isn't regarding the tour, but it could be something else...

He also said he wasn't touring this summer...considering he's got dates in June, July, and August, I'd say his "surprises this Fall" comment could mean just about anytime, as well.

The surprise is that Mailboat is within striking distance of setting a delivery date that could be (relatively) close to accurate on something less than Geological Time.
