Clean your house? We were having this conversation at work the other day, and now with the talk about jewelry and pony tale holders I was reminded of this.

When something looks like it needs it, then I'll attack it.
Only deep clean when we know we have company coming.
We're lazy.

That pretty much covers my outlook on it, too.

I checked the first option. I took this past week off work to do spring cleaning around the house because we haven't did spring cleaning of any kind in well over three years. Up 'till now it was on an "as needed" basis, but henceforth, it shall be all at once.
Except for the yard-I pay somebody to do it. The only thing left to do is get my wife's gardens tilled.

I also clean the whole thing at once, especially when we expect company.
(If we're not expecting anyone I clean about half before I get distracted.)
This process repeats itself 2-3 times each year, whether it needs it or not.
Also, I try to clean up behind myself as I go along, but with mixed success.
My kids generally thwart this effort at every turn.

Actually our house is broken up into pieces that get cleaned. I have the kitchen and bathroom, Nik has the Living room, we share for our bedroom and the boys clean their rooms. That last part was a joke.

I clean the house (really good cleaning...scrub floors, wipe baseboards, wash windows, dust, etc.) once every week and I do it all in one day. I scrub my walls every year. Right now, I am going nuts because we are having some major construction done to our home, and it is a total mess and there is not much I can do about it!
Funny thing is though, since we have four legged keets, you would never know I cleaned by the next day....there is fur everywhere!!
