No but we have ROOTS!!! REAL BIG ONES!! ( Also the unmapped waterlines, that run all over. The telephone company reqests that you call them BEFORE you dig, anything happens they fix it for free here ....if you don't call they charge you to repair the break.

If you have a small plow, and plow where you are plaving the lines makes it much easier to run the lines and put them in.

Yep. We gotta do the call before you dig thing too. We're getting a "family discount" because we're doing this in conjunction with our next door neighbor to help split the costs of some of the equipment rental and such. Plus, neighbor's BIL gets wholesale cost on PVC and heads and stuff so we won't have to buy that stuff at HD.

It's laying it all out that's hard 'cause it's very math-like. :-?

Why don't your take the money you're gonna blow on this project, and use it to move somewhere that isn't a desert?

In high school I worked for the neigbor's irrigation company, and I have installed and repaired systems for myself and with friends. It is not particularly difficult, as long as you don't try to do the trenching by hand.

A few stores have a CAD ( Computer Assisted Design) Proggie ( program)you enter the size/dimensions of the property and it makes you more or less a "blueprint" of how to install them. ( or lay the pipe if you prefer that term  8) :D )

You MIGHT can find such a program online for FREE.

It really is not as complicated as it sounds. Once you "GET R DONE" you will know it. Barring having to go around/avoid tree roots or rocks, or a utility line, phone, gas, cable, water, etc.

One other prob is making sure they don't freeze and burst. Have you considered a separate well just for the watering? I don't really know if that is an option in your area, ( although I don't think it is for you) but around here, people often have a shallow well just for that purpose. Something to think about/consider.
