Live Concerts and Interviews on RM

Post by MrTwain »

Has Anyone Seen This?

I knew that RM played concerts but I didn't know they played LIVE concerts. This may be old news to a lot of you lifetime BN PH's out there, but it was really cool for me to find this.

Sirius to carry Buffett concerts live

All of Jimmy Buffett`s stops along his “Party at the End of the World” tour will be broadcast live on Sirius Satellite Radio, as music.monstersandcritics.com writes.

The concerts will start on April 18, along with a half-hour backstage pre-show and will be aired commercial free on the Radio Margarita channel, Sirius announced in a news release.

Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band have planned 19 concerts so far -- starting in Phoenix and ending Aug. 12 in Mansfield, Mass.

It's going to be so cool to listen in on the live 1/2 hour pre-concert interview.

Your Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights won't be the same from here on out. :pirate: I would love for there to be a chatroom on Buffettnews so that we could chat more freely on the nights of the shows.

Twain,

It get's even more interesting now that the concerts are being delivered over satellite radio...

The parking lots are now filled with people that couldn't get tickets - but have a satellite subscription and listen to the concert over their car radios.

I thought it was the lawn cheering when Jimmy would announce his next song... when it was actually an uproar coming from the parking lot.

You could just buy a new radio with Sirius built in and install the antenna. It would be alot cheaper too.

I have a program called Cool Edit that works pretty well for recording shows on my PC straight off the net. It also enables you to edit the tracks plus more manipulation than I know what to do with. One thing I have noticed though is that it records what WMP puts out. Since that player is adjusted to sound good on my PC speakers, it doesen't sound that good in the car. Next time I'm gonna try turning off the equalizer so that I get the raw audio. Other programs may not do this but experimenting is all part of the fun :D
...someplace farther south, where the water's warm, the drink's are cold, and I don't know the names of the players...
