It doesn't seem as if there is enough energy in the studio version. When he plays it in concert, it will be either very good or very very very very bad. Still can't imagine parrothead howling though.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I like, certainly NOT better than Warren's, but this would be a fun addy to the setlist IMO

We shall see in 3 short days!

Might not be too bad with the help of 30-40,000 of Jimmy's closest friends helping him out

"IF" Finger's is playing, you won't hear the lyrics for the crowd noise for several shows! 8)

I think WWoL is another of those songs that inspire strong responses of varying types in people. I happen to like it.....it's quirkly....but even I have to admit that it can grate at times if heard too often.

Not sure about JB doing it.....I'll reserve judgement until I hear it.

Werewolves of London

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain
He was looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook's
Going to get himself a big dish of beef chow mein
Werewolves of London

If you hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
A little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again
Werewolves of London

He's the hairy-handed gent who ran amuck in Kent
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out, Jim
Hmm I'd would like to meet his tailor

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
saw Lon Chaney, Jr. walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's
His hair was perfect
Werewolves of London

Harp/drums and music til end. (No, "draw blood.")

Never paid much attention to the lyrics of the song, but always liked the music. The Coral Reefer music is great. Great piano. Love that slide guitar and harp.
Things I learned from searching...

I am sorry, and maybe a bit deranged, I've always thought that the line "A little old lady got mutilated late last night" is just fun to say!

Warren sure could pen some strange songs every now and then.
Ever hear Excitable Boy?

Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner had some choice lines as well. (Yeah....all three show up on my iPod play lists in heavy rotation!)

Like most music I buy, I get interested because I hear Jimmy cover a song---like Lawyers, Guns and Money.

So, I got The Wind, Life'll Kill Ya, and I'll Sleep When I'm Dead. It's nice to have that anthology, since it has some great songs with lyrics printed and photos.

So much music, so little time.

If you ever google for Zevon lyrics, this person has done a good job.

I love Warren's music...'Think of me for awhile' will make me cry buckets....but the worst nightmare I've ever had involved my dreaming of him. It was 9 years ago....and I can remember it as if it was last night.

Things to do in Denver when Your Dead is another good one.

In someways....JB and WZ are peas of a pod (at least in my mind).....

Listening to Keep Me In Your Heart, which is the song I think you meant.

I do see a connection with JB and WZ. It's good to be reminded of other artists I don't usually listen to.

(I also had to go listen to Seminole Bingo written with Carl Hiaasen.)
