Todays Friday 5's show one thing.....
maybe we should start a PH exchange program. It just seems that someone lives in or around a city that someone else wants to go to.
would be interesting

Why did you dislike Toronto so much as to not wish to return? (I won't be insulted - I live 2000 kms from there!)

We arrived by train, and were going to stay a couple of days. B/F was up getting info for hotels etc, when police and ambulance were everywhere. It was late at night, and there had been a girl badly assaulted in the restroom .....
I got really nervous - lots of scary people around - so we got on the next train out of there, to Niagara Falls .....

Trust me, Jenny, Union Station is not at all indicative of what a cool city Toronto can be . . . but the good news is, you got to see Niagara! Did you stop in wine country along the Niagara peninsula?

Anyone??
My home is open to all y'all whenever ya wanna be here. It was so interesting to see places in Colorado on people's lists of places to want to go. We're spending a bit of time this summer doing mini vacations in our own state 'cause there is just so much here.

One thing I noticed is that not very many of us go anywhere off the beaten path or too far from home. Americans just don't travel as much as the rest of the world.

I lOVE to go off the beaten path. Unfortunately, that often takes more fun tickets than I have available, so I go somewhere less exotic and final the local unbeaten path.NYCPORT wrote:One thing I noticed is that not very many of us go anywhere off the beaten path or too far from home. I think part of that is due to the sheer size and diversity within our own country. There's such a variety of places to go and things to see here, we don't often have to venture outside of our own borders to find something unique.NYCPORT wrote:One thing I noticed is that not very many of us go anywhere off the beaten path or too far from home. Ditto. To think that one country's geography goes from giant metropolises (metropoli??) like New York City to tropical islands in the Keys and Hawaii, to desert in Arizona, to Redwoods in Cali to glaciers in Alaska, its pretty awe inspiring and not many countries can boast that.Lundah wrote:I think part of that is due to the sheer size and diversity within our own country. Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

This is the exact thinking that leads to us not going anywhere. Trust me there is no place in this country that looks anything like Southeast Asia or the Eastern Plains on Africa, a culturally it's not even close either. And those who don't venture out of the safety of the US are missing ALOT!jonesbeach10 wrote:Ditto.
