NOLA = New Orleans, LA.
Aside from that, the songs is awful, IMHO.
So you really don't think NOLA means North Los Angeles?
I think it was ok, not great, not awful. It will be entertaining to listen to now and then, but doesn't rank with some of his better covers he has done.

Yes, it ties in (albeit loosely) right after a scene involving dogs. It's not the strongest tie-in of the film ("Barefootin'", "Floridays", and "Good Guys Win" tied in better to me), but it works okay. I still have to reserve judgement on Jimmy's version as I haven't yet heard it all the way through.
Yep. It could've been worse. Jimmy could've covered Who Let the Dogs Out? for that scene.
okay now that I actually have the cd and have listened to it on my stellar car audio system, I will say that the song is not that bad.
Musically it's on point, and Jimmy's voice is fine.
I like it better than Warren' version.
Problem is, it's hard to make a song that I always thought sucked sound awesome. Nice Try though,
Just keep reminding yourselves that it's for a kid's/young teen movie and you'll be alright

Ya know, I love Warren Zevon as much as Jimmy and I'm just curious, if he was going to cover another song (besides Lawyers, Guns and Money) why he didn't choose "Hula Hula Boys". It seems a lot more "Buffett" than Werewolves. Besides, I saw the movie last week and I didn't get the connection. Other songs seem brilliantly placed, such as "Barefootin'" which I gotta say after having only seen two of Jimmy's shows, this song was kind of tongue in cheek for me (does he ever wear shoes on stage?)

(Sidenote: the Wallflower's version of "Lawyers, Guns and Money" on the tribute album is edgy, fun and nicely done.)
Wait...Adam Sandler sings?! I mean, I like his movies for the most part. I have those times when I need some comedy in my life, but I had no idea he had an album out!
Wrinkles only go where smiles have been.
What infinite wisdom...Thank you Jimmy!!!
If he had to cover a Zevon song, it should have been Gorilla You're A Desperado, but then, I'm not in the position to pick and choose what Jimmy records......just dreamin out loud

How much different does he sound from Warren Zevon?
You know how Warren sounds a bit different from verse to verse whe he says, "Werewolves of London".....well Jimmy's version doesn't do that. I think they may have recorded the chorus once and played that same copy each time it comes up in the song.
Live, this song has the chance to kick @ss, but on the CD....it leaves some to be desired.
I'm just tryin' to get by being quiet and shy,
In a world full of pushin' and shove.
Jimmy's version sounds very lame to me. Setting aside the lyrics which you could like or not, Zevon's voice is so much deeer and richer that it makes Jimmy's version sound like a kid's movie version....oh, wait...
Then, again, I still prefer VM's Brown-Eyed Girl... sha la la la la la la....

LOL...yeah.....it shows on this one. Rock says that Zevon sounds like he's seen a werewolf....Jimmy hasn't...they are just things in his head (ala Vampires, Mummies and the Holy Ghost - one of her favorite songs).
Scary, but I understood that.
