If anyone is local and wants to see Bruce Springsteen live in a very small venue, there are still plenty of tickets available for his upcoming shows this week and next in Convention Hall Asbury Park via TM. There is a 2 ticket maximum and only via will call with ID (scaplers need not apply). I just got two for tomorrow night and can't wait to see this show. Basically is a warm up for his upcomiong tour of the Seeger Sessions. Good Luck!
The wife and I went last night and WOW what a show! I don't know if it was because I am a Springsteen fan or was raised on Pete Seeger music or that the venue held less than 2000 people(no jumbo-tron) and you could see everyone on stage without squinting. But this show was hands down the BEST show I have seen in probably 30 years. If anyone gets the change to see this tour I highly advise it. The folks goping to Jazz Fest are in for a treat since he is going the play there. As the newspapers said it is a night of Gospel, Folk, Blues and Rock. Once again WOW!

Did he play any of his own material, or did he strictly stay with the Seeger Session material? I have seen Springsteen twice, once with the E-Street Band and once Solo acoustic.

Here is the setlist which will change:
Oh, Mary, Don't You Weep
John Henry
Johnny 99
Old Dan Tucker
Eyes on the Prize
Jesse James
Adam Raised a Cain
Erie Canal
My Oklahoma Home
Devils & Dust
Mrs. McGrath
How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live?
Jacob's Ladder
We Shall Overcome
Open All Night
Pay Me My Money Down
Encore: My City of Ruins
Buffalo Gals
You Can Look (But You Better Not Touch)
When the Saints Go Marching In.
The sound ranged from straight folk to swing. It was great, people were yelling out for Thunder Road and he was playing Old Dan Tucker, Ha. If you are expecting the E-Street Band don't go but if you enjoy old tyme music then definetly go and see this tour. Totally acoustic night, he never picked up his old telecaster, probably left it home. Not only that but he was really having a good time and enjoying himself. Here is a guy who has more money than he can spend and doesn't need anymore so you got to know he is only doing what HE wants to do and playing what he wants to play.

I love old time music and I was just curious if he played any of his own songs. I plan on seeing this tour when it comes around. His Devils and Dust tour was incredible. I love his rendition of "Pay Me My Money Down." Great set list!!!

If anyone's interested, Springsteen's supposed to be on Good Morning America next Tuesday. I think he'll be performing in Convention Hall in Asbury Park, not in GMA's Times Square studio.

The good thing is no scalpers need apply. You can only get two per guest and need to show ID at the door and then after you get you tickets you have to go in immediatly. GREAT IDEA BRUCE! screw the scalpers.

I mentioned Good Morning America for people who aren't local and might want to catch him on TV.

Funny you should mention Covention Hall.

I just talked to a co-worker who had borrowed Sopranos season 3 (cover has a picture of the Boardwalk) that I saw the fomer back-up band for Linda Ronstadt (the Eagles) open for Bruce at Convention Hall in Asbury Park in the summer of 1973.

Why don't i listen ( or read) better the first time arond? They were actually giving away free tickets to this show being recorded in Convention Hall tuesday morning at 6:30. It will be a two song set ( most likely "Pay me My Money Down" and "Old Dan Tucker" and the interview for Good Morning America. By the time I realized it was all given away. So I had to buy more tickets for Wednesday night. I hope that that night will be just as good as the last one.
