HOOT is a Wonderful kids flick. I enjoyed it much myself. We did our part. Seen it twice with the oldest and once with the yongest. 3 trips for this parrot head....

National Amusements, i.e. Showcase Cinemas has already reduced "Hoot" to matinees only starting tomorrow, looks like by next Friday, it may disappear already with "DaVinci Code" probably taking up 3 or 4 screens in every theatre.

It's not like he has never done covers before.

The movie is not that bad. It's not an art movie. It's not a blockbuster. It's a kid's movie that assumes that kid's have half a brain and care about something other then videogames.
Yes it is but even for a kid's movie, it's not really up to par - Nickelodeon and Disney have done better made for TV movies. I wouldn't say it's horrible and I would suggest taking younger kids (to a matinee like Mal said) but it could have been done much better.
