Hey, Gonzo.....really good Margarita recipe but leave the blue outta mine! Long story about me, a pitcher of something called "Electric Lemonade", a straw, and a night called "Thirsty Thursday" about 7 years ago......I learned that I was not put on this earth to drink stuff that's blue! :o

Morning

Post by cocotel »

Good morning!!!

Hope everyone is doing well this morning and enjoying this beautiful weather in the southeast this week.

After our meeting tomorrow at UNC we'll be heading down to Myrtle Beach for a change of pace. Unfortunately it's one day after Jimmy but that's all right.
The girls are so excited about getting their new shirts from Margaritaville!
As for my wife, although the forecast is calling for rain, a hurricane would not prevent her from walking that beach.

Let's keep the momentum going here!!
We're only 31 days away!!!!! :D

Whatever your day consists of, go out and make it a good one!!!!! :D

I tryed my rum, o.j. and juicy juice blend last night.

It's a little sweet but good on ice.

Let me tell you a quick story about what happened to me this morning while shaving.

Typical morning.
Got up, poured a cup of coffee and had a bagel.
Proceed to the bathroom and take my usual position at the sink with my trusty razor and shaving cream.
All's going well when I look to my right and coming at me is a green tree frog!!
He lands on my right ear and latches on.
Yes, I bellowed out like a two year old.
My wife opens the door and says, "What in the.....blahhhhhhhhhhh! How did? What? Never mind!!"
I again screamed, "Please get him off me!!!"
"Aint no way." , as she closes the door.

Not wanting to hurt him, I gently tugged him off and headed through the house to the back door.
Half shaven, nothing but a pair of shorts, I place him on the first tree I come upon and head back to the house.
A turn at the back door, LOCKED!!
No problem, I'll just grab the spare key we leave outside.
Open up the citronella candle to grab the keys, GONE!!
So I start knocking on the back door.
Katherine my seven year old daughter comes down stairs and gingerly walks toward the door. She sees me with shaving cream dripping on the left side of my face and let's out a scream as she heads for my bedroom.

Here comes my wife again.
Looks out the door at me and starts laughing uncontrolably.
"Please open the door!!"

When I finally get back in, my oldest Hannah comes down stairs.
"What's going on?"
We tell her of the incident and she laughs but then suddenly stops.
See, yesterday she found him outside, put him in a shoe box with some crickets she has for her fire bellied toad along with a little grass for comfort.
Only trouble is she never put a lid on the box!!

Freak show at it's finest.

So that's my morning.
How was the start to your day?

Well, cocotel, sounds like you had an eventful morning. Would be hard to top that.

Thanks for all you are doing to make this a great bash. Can't wait.

Railroad lady-I would like to kick in some $$ for the cups and food. My phlock of 4 will be rolling in between 3 and 4 pm. I definitely want cups. Let me know.

We are staying at Comfort Suites off Harris Blvd- a few miles from venue.

Name tags would be good. I have one from before when someone on BN had them made but the rest of my phlock does not have one.

Cocotel-Maria and you are in my prayers. Sending phin power her way.

This one makes 118

I'm getting my fill before I go away for a little while.

Please , please, please keep my wife Maria in your thoughts and prayers over these next few weeks.
I apologize if I sound like a broken record but strength is in numbers.

On Friday we will meet with the bone marrow team, the lead physician and a host of others who will explain in detail how this whole thing will go.
She will go in on May 11 for 2-3 days for a drug called busulfane. She will come home on mothers day :D for 2 days then go back in on May 17.
From the 17th to the 22nd she will receive a drug called campath. This will be the final push of chemo's. Transplant date is May 24th.

Thanks to everyone for your support and I expect to show up in Charlotte with a great report.

See you soooooooooooooon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
We're praying for you guys!!!

It is what it is.
That's we're we are right now.
Tomorrow afternoon after our trek to UNC we're heading down to Myrtle Beach with some friends to their parents place for the weekend.
If your going to be down that way (by way of the Myrtle Beach travel park) PM me before five tomorrow, me and the Mrs. would love to meet you.
Since I'm taking my girls Saturday to Margaritaville for their new parakeet shirts I got to thinking about "prizes" for games we may play.

I'm going to pick up three "unique" Margaritaville store prizes.
Here's where I'll need everyones help.
Help me come up with some games we can play.
Come up with the games and we'll make 'em happen.

My time is going to be very limited these next two weeks so I really need your help.

Can someome please PM Jimmy and ask him to stay one more day for me? :D

I've got to run for now!!
I'll check back here late Sunday night!!
Have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

Cocotel, Thank you for the great story this morning.....as busy as my day was today, It sure put a smile on my face. I was LOL.

Your family will definitely be in our prayers thoughout the next few weeks....
hopefully you will be able to sign on long enough to let us know how things are going....If not...I totally understand.

A couple of people have mentioned that they would like for me to put cups aside for them.... so far I have:

Gonzocompadre: 4
Jill 54: 4

I have been trying to think of games and the only one I can come up with is the Limbo.
Oh and one other....name that buffett tune......
Pick or Play random lyrics and name the title of the song.

Or we could get real difficult on some of them.....and make you sing the whole thing...... That could get interesting....."God's Own Drunk" comes to mind.

Just a thought...........

No matter what we end up doing......we are all going to have a BLAST!!!!
I am soooooooo excited. Phriends that are coming with us came over last night for some Jager Bombs....we have already started making our list of things to bring. I know we will have Jager Bombs and a Cooler full of Margaritas that we can just get out of the spout. Also plenty of Rum, Beer and Juices. Food???? not sure yet.

GOOD TIMES!!!!

hey there

Just got in from Myrtle Beach!!
The weather held up Saturday and we made a day of it on the beach.
There was a horrible wreck on 95 this Friday afternoon which caused our normal 2 1/2 hr drive to be more like 5 hours.
We got in about 9 and man did it pour down rain.
Saturday's weather made up for it all though. It was a great beach day.
Today was a bit cooler and the rain did not hold back this time.
We all left for Broadway on the beach about 10:30 and hit Margaritaville just as she opened at 11:00.
I had posted on Friday about picking up a few items we could give away during some games we may play in the lot.
I came up with three. Nothing big, just the novelty of it all.
1) A zip up beer holder
2) A "License to Chill" pin with some neat artwork on it.
3) And a bumper sticker with the montage of dancing parrots

Like I said nothing big but just the novelty of it all

Gotta run.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and I look forward to taling with you soon.

Hello, hello.....sorry to be awol all weekend. My folks were visiting us at the beach for the weekend....went to the wooden boat show in Beaufort. They sure had some beautiful little boats there!

Al, your story about the frog made me laugh out loud! I can relate.....was looking closely at one on the porch last fall and it jumped on my face and landed right between my eyes. Not that they're scary or anything but it made me scream anyway. Unpredictable little buggers! Glad you had a good time in Myrtle Beach over the weekend.

Railroad Lady, please count me in on cups....I'm shooting you a PM.

I'm gonna stop by my local party store over Memorial Day weekend (didn't have time to do it this weekend) and pick up everything and anything I think would be handy for tailgating.....and everybody can plan on being lei-ed!! I'll have a big bag of 'em!

I hope everyone is well!

Week ahead

Post by cocotel »

Hey everyone

Just a quick drop by to say hey.
This week is going to be busy.
Maria has an all day chemo drip (9:30 to 4:00) this Wednesday @UNC.
She gets to come home Wednesday night but is going back Thursday to be admitted for two days for test doses of a drug called busulfane.
If all goes well she'll be home Saturday or Sunday.
She then gets admitted on May 17 and the transplant is scheduled for May 24.
From there she has to stay in the hospital for 3-6 weeks or until her body can build new cells.
It's amazing!
She essentially will have a brand new immune system and her blood type will change from O+ to A+.

Gotta go. Time to get the keets ready for bed.

I'll be in and out this week.
Hope everones doing well and I'll see you all soon.
