FSOTW and 'Cakes

I like nearly all of Jimmy's music, but I really think these are two albums that sometimes don't get the credit they deserve. Sure, they are talked about from time to time, but I think they are solid albums. They both get pretty heavy rotation in my playlists.
And I'll beat everyone to the punch by saying "yes, I even kind of like 'Autour du Rocher' and 'USS Zydecoldsmobile'." I don't love those songs, but enjoy them when I'm in the right mood. Yall's thoughts?

FSOTW took a while to grow on me, but now I love it.
Fruitcakes has long been a favorite of mine.

I can't really get into Far Side of the World. The same goes for Banana Wind and Beach House on the Moon. I like these albums, but they don't see a lot of rotation in my cd player.

Fruit Cakes and Far side of the world are great albums that I liked from the start. My wife, daughter and I drove accross the country last year and Far side of the world was the first song we played as we hit the highway.

I like both albums (are they still called albums?)
But 'USS Zydecoldsmobile' has been my least favorite Buffett song since the first time I heard it.

Like 'em both, plenty. Just not ALL the songs, but that's pretty much normal for most any CD I have.

I love every song on both albums.

Same here, but they are now both near and dear to my heart

I like both of these albums--They blow away Hot Water, which may be his weakest (I'll take That's What Living is To Me, SW in a real short skirt and maybe Pre-you and leave the rest)

Uh....no. It really doesn't do anything for me.
But, hey we're all entitled to our opinions and I know a lot who like the song

Like them both. A few songs to leave, a few to love, like most albums, but FC is redeemed by Lone Palm for sure, and FSOTW has a few nice ones. A few more, um, challenged songs, but not all bad.

Even though both are very good CDs, I prefer Fruitcakes over FSOTW.

Fruitcakes has a better overall flow throughout the entire album whereas Far Side is a bit broken up by the different genres covered on the album. The title track comparison is a cinch - Far Side is way better than Fruitcakes. I'd rather listen to Altered Boy than that horrendous Vampires...
Someday I Will - the ballads on FSOTW are excellent. And USS is smokin', I don't know what y'all are on! Last Man Standing! The ballads on F are good too - Lone Palm, Love In The Library.
Bottom line - neither album has anything as horrible as Cultural Infidel, Math Suks, Take It Back or Turning Around on it.
Yeah, CDs are still called albums. CDs are records as well.
