ok well my statements were all true except his age thing. His orneryness and acidty reminded me of a much older guy. My bad.

I'll have to remember that when Beckett gets a blister and misses a start.
And will someone tell me why a natural second baseman is playing first for his supposed "defense" when there is a perfectly fine MLB ready defensive 1st baseman in AAA?
Yes Phillips is still on the team. Also a good defensive 1st baseman. And it's not like Cairo has made much contact, let alone hit the ball well to make up for it. Would it have been that much worse to put Phillips or even Giambi at first?BottleofRum wrote:jonesbeach10 wrote:Dude, the guy fractured his wrist.BottleofRum wrote:uh oh Matsui got a boo boo the streak is over..... pass me a tissue.

We had to deal with so much BS from Yankee fans (not you) here when Nomar and Pedro were often injured, it was non stop.
Your second point is a good one. Torre really makes some interesting decisions during games. He managed that 6th inning like it was the end of the game, righty, lefty, righty, lefty he must have received some advanced weather report that rain was on the way. Is Andy Phillips still on the ML roster?

The whole Cario playing first seemed awkard from the start.jonesbeach10 wrote:Yes Phillips is still on the team. Also a good defensive 1st baseman. Matsui's streak was the longest for the Yankees since Lou Gehrig played in 2,130 straight games from 1925-39, which was the big league record until Cal Ripken of the Baltimore Orioles broke it in 1995.BottleofRum wrote:uh oh Matsui got a boo boo the streak is over..... pass me a tissue.

a wins a win!!...but it was getting frustrating to watch!!!!....Loretta got robbed on the one up the middle off the pitcher......got a break on the one to Jeter........jeter should of ate that ball.......especially when you have a guy playing 1st who really isn't a 1st baseman!!...you only give up the tying run then!!RAGTOP wrote:Sox lucky to pull out a win last night. Somewhere along the line they forgot how to hit in the clutch (left bases loaded 3 times) otherwise known as Aroditus
Jeter has to make that throw or the game would have been tied. I lay the blame on Torre for having Cario playing first.tequilatom wrote:a wins a win!!...but it was getting frustrating to watch!!!!....Loretta got robbed on the one up the middle off the pitcher......got a break on the one to Jeter........jeter should of ate that ball.......especially when you have a guy playing 1st who really isn't a 1st baseman!!...you only give up the tying run then!!RAGTOP wrote:Sox lucky to pull out a win last night. at least it would only be tied.....depending waht Ortiz does......and they probably don't see Papelbon with a tie!!BottleofRum wrote:Jeter has to make that throw or the game would have been tied.
