How come they do so many curtain calls in NY? Torre takes a dump and they want him to take a curtain call.

I know they haven't won in a while but at least act like you have seen a HR before

and some questionable pitches called for strikes against the Red Sox in the 1st inning!!

Sounds like excuses to me. .

It's early. . .Not going to say anything. . (even though it's 13-2  ) It's one game. .and I think the Yanks will want some of those runs in the next 3 days. . :-?

BOR. . Fans call for the curtain calls. . Players make them happy. I think it is overdone. . should be reserved for big hits and milestones. (and Bernie Williams!)

Bernie Williams made it from first to third without the aid of a wheel chair.... it's curtain call time.

I wasn't making excuses for the Yankees in case they lost.

All I was saying with the injuries was that with the Yankees and Red Sox as evenly matched as they are, if your opponent has arguably 3 of their best 6 players out, and another 4 playing hurt, you should beat them.

If you're a Sox fan coming into the series, you have to take 2 games at least and take advantage of the fact that the Yanks are nowhere near full strength. Because you'll be kicking yourself in September when you're struggling to get into the play-offs and every game (especially those against the Yankees) matters, and you look back and see a wasted opportunity.

If you're the Yankees, you need to take one or two games at home so that you stay with the Sox in the division and don't create a hole for yourself both in the division standings and head-to-head.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Curtain calls are OK. In a game where you score 13 runs, there's allot to be happy about. I'm personally not a big proponent of them but I understand them. We Yankees fans aren't shy about expressing grattitude.

i agree totally!!!......but it comes down to pitching as tonight so far has proved......and tomorrow the yankkes should have the upper hand in the pitching match up....Wed Red Sox and thursday Red Sox ( wakefield is a Yankee killer more times than not)

Well in your avatar you are decked out in Red Sox gear and yet you're a Mets fan. You've explained it, I just will never get it. I'm stubborn that way. I believe in liking one team and one team only.
