All I was saying with the injuries was that with the Yankees and Red Sox as evenly matched as they are, if your opponent has arguably 3 of their best 6 players out, and another 4 playing hurt, you should beat them.

If you're a Sox fan coming into the series, you have to take 2 games at least and take advantage of the fact that the Yanks are nowhere near full strength. Because you'll be kicking yourself in September when you're struggling to get into the play-offs and every game (especially those against the Yankees) matters, and you look back and see a wasted opportunity.

If you're the Yankees, you need to take one or two games at home so that you stay with the Sox in the division and don't create a hole for yourself both in the division standings and head-to-head.
i agree totally!!!......but it comes down to pitching as tonight so far has proved......and tomorrow the yankkes should have the upper hand in the pitching match up....Wed Red Sox and thursday Red Sox ( wakefield is a Yankee killer more times than not)
That is true. The only Yankee pitcher who has been hurt is Rivera and he only pitches an inning a game. I did expect a better pitching matchup tonight, though.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

Not a big fan of Wangs but yes I agree that they should have the advantage tomorrow night.

Nope, Giants fan. I'm from NY ( even though they play in jersey). Most Yankee fans are Giants fans although of course some are jets fans. I'm not from Dallas, I wouldn't be a CowBoys fan....

so did i....i thought Mussina was due for a bad game....Red Sox get to him once in a while.......what drives me nuts with him is how slow he is between pitches!!!....if i'm a batter i keep stepping out when he is about ready to go into his motion or step out and say to the umpire when he is ready to pitch i'll step back in!!

I disagree. I'm judging by my circle of friends though. most are Giants or jets fans. I'm sure there is a segment of that out there for sure. My favorite football team was decided before the 90's as I turned 15 in 1990.

I guess if you're a Fins fan, you probably don't care to know many jets fans. Here on Long Island, there are tons...

I don't watch every Yankees game but i have seen many non-Red Sox Yankees games this season, almost every time a Yankee hits a HR @ home they want a curtain call. It's pretty pathetic and cheapens the moment when it happens all the time. But when your not winning in October anymore you have to take pride in small victories in May and June I guess.

i'm not much on curtain calls....unless it is a dramatic moment of the game.....1st couple of innings it's not at the dramatic stage yet...........unless it is a worthy milestone....3000 hit........breaking a home run record....something with meaning!!

Almost every is a huge overstatement but the fact that you admit you don't watch every Yankee game means you can't really say it either way for sure. 5 years of no championship is a drop in the bucket compared to 86 you had to wait but the truth is Yankees expect to win the Series every year so any year it doesn't happen is a dispaointemnt and I think that's the best way to be.

Thats your choice....i like a lot of teams and players......i like watching the Brewers now...exciting team....always liked Oakland and Texas....fun teams to watch...as for the picture....my girlfriend at the time got me tickets and had the picture taken........i liked the color of the jacket and the hat so i bought it!!!....i have hats from a lot of teams.....i use to collect all the batting helmets . until some teams kept changing them!!!

i'm going on the limb and to say your a Cowboy fan too!!!
Nope, Giants fan. I'm from NY ( even though they play in jersey). Most Yankee fans are Giants fans although of course some are jets fans. I'm not from Dallas, I wouldn't be a CowBoys fan....
Like the Giants.....but guessing at your age....most usually jump on front runners in the 90's....Yankee fan or no Yankee fan!!
I disagree. I'm judging by my circle of friends though. most are Giants or jets fans. I'm sure there is a segment of that out there for sure. My favorite football team was decided before the 90's as I turned 15 in 1990.
up here in Conn. a lot of people are cowboy fans...there is a bar in town they all go to....and i'm in more the Giants territory......i honestly don't know many Jet fans.....i'm a Dolphins fan since '72 i was 10!!!
I guess if you're a Fins fan, you probably don't care to know many jets fans. Here on Long Island, there are tons...
i just really haven't come across many Jet fans....Jets should be playing on or near Long Island!!!..as i said tons of Cowboy fans......steeler fans......i think i know more brows fans than i do Jet fans.....and of course Giants and Pats!!

So was 1986 the best/worst year of baseball for you?
No........i was at game 4 in Boston....with 2 other Met fans....no problems...except i got on channel 9 and ESPN arguing with a fan who was telling me Rich Gedman is a better player than Gary Carter is!! Carter hit 2 hrs that night!!
I was actually at game Six. Have the ticket to prove it as I've heard stories about people making that up.
wait....your a Yankee fan...who were you cheering for if anyone!!!...game six i was at a local club.....and it wasn't looking good so i walked away from the tv for a few minutes...came back into the area as the ball is going under buckner....game 7 i was in the Hospital...had my apendix out...but made sure i had a tv and nothing to put me to sleep until the game was over!!!
Wasn't cheering for either but i hate the Mets less. :)
Yep, especially when your brother and mom are Met fans and you and your dad are Yankee fans. We generally don't root against the Mets or Yankees unless they're playing each other. We'd just fight over the remote when we'd all want to watch baseball. :)
Oh, and my parents anniversary fell on Game 1 of the World Series in 2000.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar
