everyone views things differently, so where, if you could stay there all season would yours be?

mine would be the outer banks, i know some feel it to be too built up or too whatever, but i can find peace of mind, a slower attitude and still know that a beach bar is only a bike ride away.

now i have to go back to the beffet and quietly make my own noise...

A small island on Lake Erie called Put In Bay. Definitely an escape from everyday life. 8)

seems like we just did this but........

I like a few spots off the beaten path in and around St Augustine, Fl.
The town has a caribbean feel to me.
It's not too far from me and I've been going there since a child.

Also love Cudjoe Key.
For the past couple of years we've been staying at a laid back place down there. Nothing like sitting out on the dock there with either a beer and either fishing rod or guitar.
Catching a few sunsets from the kayaks there is also very nice.

i dont think i could move permenantly to the outer banks, but i couldvery happily stay a year or so and get ingrained in the southern culture and the ebb and flow of the life there, from the crush of the summer to the quiet of the winter to the peacefullness of the spring and fall. plus with all the great little hangouts i could happily have booze in any number of blenders

Probably somewhere on Maui or in the Keys in the winter, and summering on a lake in down east Maine. 8) 8) 8)

Cabo San Lucas, Baja Sur, Mexico is where I would call home if a Gringo could buy a home, its a fascinating little town if ya know where to look. Desperation Samba could have been written in some of those off the wall dance clubs as well as could Banana Republics

Late at night you will find them
In the cheap hotels and bars
Hustling the senoritas
While they dance beneath the stars
Spending those renegade pesos
on a bottle of rum and a lime
Singin' give me some words I can dance to
Or a melody that rhymes

November babyyyyyyyyyy one more time !!!!

Great Guana Cay in the Abacos, Bahamas. My parents have a vacation cottage there (www.lilgecko.com). It's not for everyone (no spas, no luxury establishements, just fish, drink, swim and enjoy the sun). The most dressed up you get is to throw on flipflops and a tank top for the "fancy" restaurant. What more do you need?

There's pictures in my Webshots.

Nowhere else I would rather be on a permanent basis.

If I had only one choice? Hawaii. Windward side of Oahu or possibly Maui. Life is different there. Healthier. A little slower. Makes you think some.

If I could pick two, the New England sea coast in summer and Hawaii the rest of the year.

I have a few different versions of Margaritaville.

Boca Grande, FL- This is a margaritaville type of community.

The Keys in May and June (Tarpon Season!) That’s when all the characters show up. And the days get exciting. That’s a margaritaville crowd.

Sebastian Inlet, FL, The surf is fairly consistent which keeps me in the water, the excersize in the ocean keeps me feeling like I live in Margaritaville.

Caribbean coast of Central America (from Beliez to Panama) I love the adventure, people and the fishing, diving, and surfing. I love the Margaritaville lifestyle.

Gregory Town, Eleuthera. This is a bassackwards type of Margaritaville. Reminds me of what it used to be like a hundred years ago in a beach town.

Dunmore Town, Harbor Island. I just love Bahamian cooking. Not to mention Ma’Ruby makes one of Jimmy Buffett’s favorite meals.

Lowcountry, South Carolina. This is the way I was raised. Shrimping, fishing, and crabbing. Working, playing, and enjoying the salt water lifestyle.

Lake of The Woods, Ontario. I love to musky fish in July and August up there. Absolutely beautiful.

I wouldn't want to stay there for a whole season...maybe in the general area tho...

Either have to be on the marina/dock at The Conch House, St. Augustine, Florida or at the end of 16th Ave. South in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Both are places I've gone to clear my head. Just a few weeks ago, I sat on the shore in Jax Beach and thought about a lot of things. What a way to get a grip on life.

I'd be running into Bumper. :D 8)
I have a house overlooking the Sea of Cortez, just outside of San Jose del Cabo. Sitting on the deck, ice cold beer in one hand and a Cuban in the other is just this side of heaven. 8)

There is one other place. Halfway down the Baja Penninsula on the East side is a very small town called Santa Rosalia. There is a church there that was designed and built by Eiffel (of Effel tower fame). There are literally two roads into and out of the town. There is a hotel just South of town that overlooks the Sea of Cortez. Each room has its own private deck to enjoy the view. The rooms are $35 per night and the owner apologizes for that. The people for the most part don't speak English but even if your Spanish is just passable they are the warmest and kindest people you will meet. I love this little town and have had some great times with the people there. Heck, they even have an airstrip! 8)

I can pretty much ditto this.

Been going since I was a child, easy only living 1 1/2 hour away. Still go regularly and I never cease to be entranced by St. Augustine. It's been our goal to move to St. Augustine by the time we're 35

Talkeetna, Alaska - Summer
Sanibel Island, Florida - Winter
I don't want to live on that kind of island
No, I don't want to swim in a roped off sea.

Right now it's St. John (although I live on St. Thomas). Going island hopping this weekend, so that could change!
