Johnny Cash's American V: A Hundred Highways to Be Released on the Fourth of July; CD To Feature Brand New Songs Recorded During The Months Before His Passing
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 2006--In the months leading up to his passing on September 12, 2003, JOHNNY CASH had been recording new material with producer Rick Rubin. On July 4, 2006,
American V: A Hundred Highways, the all-new Johnny Cash album taken from those sessions, will be released on the American Recordings label through Lost Highway. It will include the last song Cash ever wrote.

This is going to be a very somber album....it will be hard listening to it knowing that it' his final album. With that being said this has been the # 1 album on my list for 2006 releases.

Did anyone else get the sense that Johhny knew he was dyeing listening to The American IV?

Well yeah.....If you are interested there is a great book called The Man Called Cash. I highly recommend it.

I'm guessing you haven't seen the video for "Hurt". Or, maybe you have and that's what you're basing your thoughts on. In addition to the book recommendation I also suggest checking out CMTs
