how so?
As in the non-PH thinks it's cool that he got to meet him, and did something very nice for you, but you (the PH) would be so excited you wet yourself if you were in the same situation.

nah.. I'd probably handle it the same way if it were Buffett; calm and collected. :)

Very Cool

Post by Catch&Release »

I believe Bono has been travelling throughout the country speaking about 3rd world debt relief to economic clubs/economic leagues composed of the leaders of industry of the cities where he is speaking.

He's travelling to Grand Rapids, MI in May to make such a speech.

I bet Bono is flying commercial for these speeches as he would look like a hypocrite flying in a private jet like a Gulfstream while he's trying to persuade others to make personal/corporate sacrifices. It's kind of like when Bob Geldoff organized the video shoot for "Feed the World" and requested celebs not to take limos to the video shoot as that just didn't look right.

Bono may have been at Midway because a lot of smaller cities don't connect to ORD, but connect to MDW.

Very cool, nonetheless.

R2 - (I like that, haha) again, great story!

Alot of famous people fly commercial. Maybe they just want to feel normal or get away from some of the other's they have to spend so much time with.

With Bono in the news so often in recent years I wonder how folks that are supposedly out of the loop haven't heard of him. As for him "not flying commercial". I have some friends in Florida that said they used to see Bob Marley (and other famous musicians) at the Miami airport quite a bit back in the 70s.

Actually he met Boner. He's the lead singer of Ewe2 a tribute band that is playing the Holiday Inn in Sandusky this weekend

Ok, the newb in me can't help but ask.... Bono was really in the plane when Jimmy was shot at in Jamaica? I love that song, but never knew that. It's really true?
And now I must confess, I could use some rest... I can't run at this pace very long.

it would seem, according to the experts on "The Zoo", U2s equivalent of BN, that the person I saw in Midway was not Bono. A remarkably-close look-alike. Seems that Bono was in Chicago earlier in the week; but the guy I saw is the lead singer in a cover/tribute band.

My apologies for having stirred up excitement falsely; and for having what could have been a great surprise go sideways.
