Thanks so much, everyone. It really means a lot to me. This place is so great.
Brief update: I know this is TMI, but she had a bowel movement today, which is a GREAT sign that maybe things are getting better. BUT.....after she did it, she had sever chest pains and she honestly thought she was dying. Don't know what that's about. I need to call my mom for another update.
Thanks for the phin power and keep it coming.
EDIT: Update to my earlier update. The severe chest pain.....the one that my grandmother literally thought was killing her....was gas.

I know it's not funny, but I had to laugh with relief when I heard. Apparently, when things got moving again in her bowels, some gas got moving, too. But it was really stressful for her and my mom....she was literally telling her goodbye, my mom was crying, it was a mess. But now she's doing much better and she's able to take in some liquids and she may get out in a couple of days.

Go ahead and laugh, C.U.-it's perfectly understandable.
So glad to hear your grandmother is doing better and may even get to come home in a couple days.

Another update: Things are not looking good. The intestine has uncrimped, but has stopped working again for some reason that they can't pinpoint right now. She's also on oxygen b/c she is having trouble breathing.
My mom really thinks this might it. She says my grandmother is in so much pain....she can't eat or drink anything....she just has lost the will to live. She says she's ready to go. She has been for a while, really. Her quality of life has been poor for some time. I really am scared we will lose her soon. But like my mom said today, this is in God's hands now. If He wants her, I just hope He does it soon, without dragging this out too much longer.
Please continue the phin power for her....and for my mom. This is really going to be hard on her, too. Please pray that she either recovers from this somehow or that is ends peacefully for her without much pain.

Latest update: We are cautiously optimistic....my grandmother is feeling much much better today! She had some really rough days, but today was looking up. She even got out of bed for a while and moved around some. They took more X-rays, and originally she had three places where her intestine had crimped up...now there's only one place, so definitely an improvement. We're hoping the worst is behind us.....but things have been very up and down, so we're trying not to get our hopes up.
So keep the phin power coming--I think it's helping!

I have wonderful news! My grandmother is going to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow! Her digestion appears to be back on track, and she's still weak, but doing much much better.

Wow, I'm so happy that you have more time with her!
What a great Mother's Day you will have......I'm tickled.
Give her a hug for all of us and tell her we're still thinking about her!
