Buffett Drink Ticket Found in Book

Post by jedivet »

Never posted a new topic on BN before, but here goes...have to share...

My dad came up for dinner yesterday evening. On his way to my house, he stopped into an older book store in search of the John D. MacDonald book "Turquoise Lament", the only one he is missing. He has to find it himself in an old bookstore, see-won't buy it online. Doesn't care about condition-just wants a real paperback traveled version. Well, they didn't have the book, but he did find something very cool in another book by said author. A drink ticket from a JB show.

The ticket is two sided. Side A says:The Buckeye Lake Music Center Drink Ticket with an outline of the state of Ohio in the center. Over this outline, it says JIMMY BUFFETT JULY 16, 1994. Side B says: GOOD FOR ONE (1) FREE BEER. Valid only on July 16, 1994,

He pocketed said bookmark and brought it to me, the much larger PH. Isn't that crazy? We are native to Ohio, though been here in Texas forever, it seems (1989), and he comes across this ticket in a book in an old bookstore down here. Wild, huh?

Too bad someone missed out on a free drink, but cool for me! Anyone at that show?

"Travis McGee's still in Cedar Key, that's what old John MacDonald said. My rendezvous so long overdue with all of the things I've sung and I've read. They still apply to me, they all make sense in time."

I was at that show as well, and I have to say that I find this whole story highly suspicious. From what I remember of that show, I think it is highly unlikely that any beer tickets went unused.

You absotively positutely need to get that drink ticket scanned and submitted for the ticket stub site.

It sounds pretty cool, and was a great find. We know how rare the existence of that ticket must be. Plus that someone found it that cared enough to keep it and pass it along to a phan?!?!
