What's your FAVORITE JP album?

My lil' bros favorite therapy is a cooler of beer and his truck driving the dirt roads of Central Oregon listening to JP. Says is works wonders for him.
TOUGH QUESTION, but if I could only pick one, I guess it would be Common Sense (or maybe Souviners).
Heck, that's like asking me to pick a favorite Jimmy Buffett or Beatles album. I CAN'T PICK JUST ONE.

Great. P.M. me your address and I'll go buy a copy of it and send it to you.
Hell, since you're a hetro-sexual male, you have no business being a liberal anyway.

Ok you two, enough already. :-?

...and you became a Moderator, when? As best I can tell the conversation has maintained a very civil tone (except for maybe Whine-o's posts).

What would ever make you think I would do that?
Tequila Revenge wrote:Is the "best of" or "greatest hits" a good collection? :D
Yes, it is (if you're referring to Prime Prine). The only drawback is that collection doesn't cover any of his newer material. If you're interested in a more well rounded collection I suggest Great Days.

Yes, I am but please don't misinterpret that to mean I'd "bite your head off" about it. Truth be told, I'm more into recommending albums than greatest hits collections but when it comes to someone with a vast back catalog like Prine's it can be a daunting task when trying to decide on a good place to start.

Hope there's no confusion here. TR takes full responsibility for another ill advised attempt of trying to be a comedian... It's 100% in good fun :D :D

Let's just get back to talking about John Prine, or something remotely resembling the topic of this thread, please.

"Great Days" was the first Prine album that I bought. It is an incredible collection. If you only buy one Prine album in your life, "Great Days" is the one.

I disagree but only on the merit that Great Days isn't a proper album per se and you'd be doing yourself the disservice of missing out on the discovery all of his albums individually. That's not to say it isn't a great collection (which it is) but it only scratches the surface when it comes to Prine's musical works.

Couldn't find Great Days, but scored on Sweet Revenge and Fair and Square. JP's like Bubba, not a big selection in the record stores :(
