I'm also going to bring postcards for peeps to sign at that meeting - what kind of post cards are y'all doing? Just local ones or are you making special ones?
I'm not sure what kind I am going to get for the Camden concert. I hope to find something tropical.

Q&S supplied me with plain postcards from OD and I have been stamping them with tropical stamps. She had a large stack of them at Alpine and people were signing them. Since the window for shipping is until August 12, we'll be able to take some to Chicago and Indy. WOO HOO! :)

Hey, Jumpup - Do you know Pege Wright? I think she's prez of the Galveston club. I met her at Pardi Gras and just LOVED partying with her and her husband!! They are a riot!
She is the Prez, I am the Director of Communitcations.

I am glad some one enjoys partying with her.
Maybe she was more fun because she was out of her reign? - or maybe there's just something about New Orleans!?!

I have 300 of these coming from PrintsMadeEasy.com for the attendees at
our PHC's Beach Bash event next month to personalize.
Image
They gave me a 20% discount on them. It may be a standard "first time customer" discount,
but hey, it's a discount!

I'm such a slacker, and I know it for not posting here before now :(

I have 150 thin hard plastic cases I will be sending to PalmTreeGal hopefully tomorrow morning.

If sleeves are needed (the soft ones) at all, I have nearly a thousand of them and can spare any and all if needed.

My mom would like to have her teaching partners and some of the other teachers at her school fill out postcards.

I chatted with flipflopgirl about postcards for the Camden show. How many do we have committed so far? I'm thinking we could easily get 150-200 from the parking lot.

Is the 110" (LxWxH) max box size stated on page 1 accurate? That seems very small.

Yes...but it's L + W + H...so add the dimensions vs. multiply them. (I know, it's confusing...courtesy of the USPS   )

What a twit I am but that misreading is why I never did well in algebra!
But on a positive note, I just got word that my PHC (The Hanover Area Parrot Head Society) will be adding at least 50 college logo hats to the collected booty.

A point of clarification.........if I may ask...it was asked earlier and I saw no answer, or reply to the question. Can others besides members of PHCs contribute? After all this is about everyone showing their appreciation and helping out our troops...isn't it? I mean, I don't want anyone's feelings hurt or a PHC feel like someone was "poaching" on thier turf.

Yes all of the PHCs deserve credit, but it is all about our troops and they deserve the most credit because that is who all of this for.......right? Aren't they the most important thing?

I am only looking for an answer to the question that was previously raised about people that did not belong to a PHC..... After all everyone wants to support our troops.

I hope this upsets no one, but I need it clarified as I have told a few friends about it, and they are not all parrotheads but they want to help.
What do I tell them? I find it hard to refuse any offer to help.

There are no late-comers and every contribution is more than welcome. Anything you want to burn, draw, color, make out of cocktail napkins will add to the enjoyment of the event.

I want to take a minute to address all of you as well. Sometimes I see references leading me to believe there are those who think this is MY event. It isn't my event it is OUR event. Everything everyone does is more important than anything I do. Please, think of this as OUR effort for OUR troops.

The magnitude of last years success was totally due to Parrot Heads, particulalry those on BN. You always answer the call!
Sam, you missed it...

And I think there are several who don't belong to a PHC, including myself, but are helping out.

Thanks for your thoughts, Sam. Part of the rationale behind this thread on BN is to include any and all who want to participate and contribute, whether they do so as individuals, as a group of friends, or as part of a club. :D

I saw Crash's answer, but I wanted to make sure it was ok, with everyone here and not start any trouble or anyone one to think some "poaching" was going on. Not that I really give a BLEEP if they did, All I care about is OUR troops getting some much needed entertainment and a break from the same' old same' old routine. I want to make sure that it happens.

( NOT That this matters but it is why I took so long to respond: I was out playing in the yard and a wasp decided to end his (or her) life by stinging me. Needless to say the wasp committed suicide by doing so and will never sting anyone again. Meanwhile I suffer the revenge of the wasp, but I am doing fine. )

Anyway it is all about >>>>OUR<<<< TROOPS!!! Not about us. Thank you BB and Q&S for the info and remembering.

Thank you everyone for all of your contributions for them and your actions and conduct to bring a little joy and positive distraction into their lives.

God Bless our troops!!!
God Bless each and everyone of you.
Thank you for being there!!! To our trooops and to each of you that is contributing, I am hoping a certain person will come though with something(s). If it happens it will be a very special surprise....Time will tell.

Thank you again!!!
