I ran into Parrotheads coming back from Iraq... they talked about Mortaritaville all the time (I was stationed in Qatar at the time).... I talked with a few army/marines after I told them that I was a parrothead.... we had a some interesting conversations.

Taking a cue from Des' "home made" postcard - I'm going to use the following picture to make post cards to take to our PH Club meeting on Saturday for everyone to sign but I need a "sentiment" to put on it and am looking for suggestions
THANKS!

Breezes ideas got me to thinking................
Anyone can do this.........take a clean, empty 2 litre plastic tonic/pop/soda bottle and fill it with messages for our troops.
Messages in a bottle.
You can take them to work, or wherever, and people can just scribble a note to the troops on a piece of paper, roll it up and tie it, and plop it in the bottle.
Of course you would mail it to Crash, do not throw it in the water and expect them to get it Had to state that before the wise-guys came out here
Here are a couple links that might help a little. I would imagine you could get quite a few messages into each bottle.

you mean it won't float across the desert??
I couldn't resist!!
It is a really fun idea, though...I'm sure Crash will come up with some creative way to do something with those.

Use of the 2006 Anaconda BuffettFest Logo:
You are welcome to use the Anaconda BuffettFest logo (posted below) to decorate and dress up anything you are sending over to the troops for this event...e.g. bookmarks, CD labels, messages, etc., as well as for promoting local events to raise funds/contributions to BuffettFest.
However, please do
not use the logo for other purposes -- and by all means, do not sell anything with the logo on it...we have committed that this is a not-for-profit event with a sole purpose of providing some fun and escape for the troops.
If you have questions, please respond in this thread or send me a PM.
Thanks again to Key Lime Lee for his hard work in developing this fun logo!!

Earlier in the thread I offered to do something and I plan to stand by that. Where and when do we need to send our stuff to?
