FOD wrote:99-hours until concert start! I am so stoked!

We leave early on Saturday morning and will get into Vegas around 1 PM. Then a little nap and onto the pre-concert festivities. See you all there! We look forward to meeting a lot of you.

Cheers!
We are driving from Santa Barbara. Do you know how long the drive is?
We wanted to see the sights first thing in the morning and then leave (if we even get up after the concert!)

I didn't think it was nearly that long a drive after looking on map quest.
When are you planning on leaving to drive across?

I just did the drive to Vegas about a month ago and it took 6.5 hours from Santa Maria. You can probably cut an hour off from Santa Barbara. I usually take 126 East past Santa Paula and then pick up I-15 over thataway. We're probably going to hit the road around six on Saturday morning so we get into Vegas around lunch time.

One day and a wake up, got everything ready to go. Made some cool Buffett News tags. Got my JB dvd for the plane ride (I hate flying).

Everything is a go...

Happy we don't have to wait another week!

We hope to see you all soon.

Vegas, watch out, we're returning! :pirate:

For those of you driving from California, please be aware of the road construction taking place on the I-15 at the Cajon Pass. Here's additional info and links to check updates.....
Several months ago there was some brief discussion about Caltrans planning to do complete closures on I-15 in the Cajon Pass in the Summer. Well Caltrans has put this work off for awhile and has now decided to start work around October 20th and work weekends Fri thru Sun into early November.
Caltrans HIGHLY suggests that if you're planning to drive to Vegas during these times that you leave EARLY on a Thursday and come back LATE on Monday.
They are building additional truck climbing lanes and other bridge work.
For complete info check out these links:

I know some are going to the Santa Barbara show on Thursday and won't be able to leave until Friday....however, I suggest you get on the road at the crack of dawn. If you decide to sleep in, it may turn into a very, very long drive.

Probably around 10:00....we have a rental car that we're gonna drop off at the ontario airport and meet a couple of friends there for the rest of the drive to Vegas.... PM me and we can exchange cell phones....

If you read through their thread there are a couple of pages that deal with some misunderstandings and apologies. I know, because I was one of the misunderstand'rs / misinterpret'rs.

And Santa draws a crowd, what can you do??

HEY! If confusion and ignorance will get us somewhere I'm your man!

FYI much to the wifes displeasure I will likely be ordering fun rubber ducks and such with nextday air. She'll be so pleased I spent $30 to get $25 worth of fun crap I plan to leave in Vegas!
