I don't think it's a literacy issue- I can read, and write, but I have this crutch called spell check or predictive text, so I can't spell by myself anymore.
But I'm less than six months from being a Zaylak- spelled Szalach. I think I'm about to get very used to no one being able to spell any part of my name!!

Spell it? How many folks do you think can find Spain in an atlas?spainjane wrote:What's scary is how many people misspell "Spain"![]()
Or for that matter any of the Middle East coutries?
The new nations that were formerly part of the Soviet Union?
The regions of China?
The low level of geographical literacy in this country, couple with an attitude of "we don't care so let's nuke 'em" really blows me away sometimes.

For the best buffet information?
Personally, I prefer the all-you-can-eat seafood buffets, but that's just my own preference.
Maybe someday there will be a cook named Jimmy who will be singing "I Had Money One Time" ... <now there's a blast from the past

Well said JarfinJahfin wrote:Just be glad it wasn't Lynyrd Skynyrd or Led Zeppelin. They get their names mispelled much more often than Jimmy Buffett. Their fans don't go into nearly the same tizzy when those sort of mistakes (which is what they are) happen either.
