BTW all y'all that are interested - here's where we're staying in Normandy :-)

Also - anyone have a good recommendation for a blog site that is reasonably simple to use - both for updating and adding pictures to? I'm thinking about doing an online journal while we're over there?

Merci :D

A friend and I were talking about your trip. She recommended the Rodin Museum. (One website refers to it as "the Musée Rodin, ... a little Parisian secret east of Les Invalides".)

http://www.theculturedtraveler.com/Muse ... /Rodin.htm

My friend says that it has one of the best collections of Impressionist art, but I think she may be combining/confusing it with the Musee D'Orsay. Rodin Musee does have a collection from some of his Impressionist friends, but D'Orsay has a much larger one, I believe.

PHAW Webmistress wrote:My mother had a dream that she and her 3 daughters celebrated my eldest sisters birthday by having dinner in Paris..................she is now offering all of us an all expense paid vacation to France :o :o

I'm in total shock - but not enought to know this is a chance of a lifetime.

So - for those of you that have been - if you had a week (that's all I get my mother and other sisters will be there for about 2 weeks :( ) what would you do? what would you see?
Walk everywhere..... See Notre Dame if for no other reason than the history of it. Take the batobus up and down the river (get a pass as this is a great way to just cruise around. When we were there a month pass was cheaper than 2 one week passes though you need to give them a passport sized picture to laminate on the month pass). Go see the Impressionists gallery in the musee de Orsy. Walk quickly threough the Louvre (it was a bit over poweiring for me...) Go window shopping on Champs Elise (SP!!!), Go in search of the perfect lemon crepe' (or the flavor of your choice)Walk the Latin quarter. Check out the "Bird Market" behind norte dame on sundays, see the stained glass in le Petite chapel,
Try to learn a few phrases in French and use them even though they sound terrible. Go get sorbet in the latin quarter. Walk the Jardin tiles. Hang out at the Eiffel tower and watch the people.
take in some cafe music, drink a lot of wine, eat real bagettes

What time of year???
