Why so many Alpine Valley tics around?

Post by jsteele2 »

With all the outrage from jimmy not playing Alpine last year i am very surprised as to the quantity of Alpine tics available here and other places. I know myself and some others have had lots of trouble unloading a couple of extras at face, just wondering what everyone thought of all the extras floating around at low prices.

There are also extras floating around for Cincy, Pittsburgh and Mohegan, for this leg of the tour...that I've seen. I think the $126 face scared many away and they are either aware of the availability and are mad/protesting or are still priced out of the market, or they aren't aware of the later releases...simply gave up after the original on-sale dates. Either way, it's interesting to watch what's going on.... I haven't been following lawn ticket prices, but I'd guess they're generally selling for over face value.

Mohegan is still on TM for $251, and ebay had 11 listings, none with any bids, and the exchange has several pairs for face value of $518.

Tequila Tom and I are heading there without tickets to see what we can find in the parking lot. We're prepared to pay up to 20% of face value, so call us when the "I'm stuck with my tickets" panic sets in.

Maybe 27.5%, and a free pass to the buffet, it's negotiable.

it seems the more expensive the ticket, the more the bottom falls out of the market near show time...for someone who has been planning for month and scrambles to get tickets, the higher prices seem worth it at the time...now not so much...there is still a demand for lawn tickets, but for pairs that are spread all over the place, people appear to shy away from the prices...Many people on ebay probably don't even understand that a pair of pavilion tickets for $300 is basically face value and they don't bid since they think its too high...the same is true for many big acts near the date of the show. Late ticket drops like many venues have just add to the amount of tickets. I'd like to say that the only people getting screwed are the brokers, but I know that is not true...when paying $125 for one seat, hopefully there aren't many people that back out at the last minute

Well, if we don't get tickets, that's where we'll eat.
