this is the LAST TOUR!!!! ????
There's a lot of little signs out there that this could be THE LAST TOUR!!!.
JB was telling Katie Couric that he's only doing a two week tour this year.. slowing down.. just some special small shows. His kids are older, he's cut the band down.. and THE KICKER,,, the tour name is THE END OF THE WORLD TOUR.
ANY MORE EVIDENCE OUT THERE?? Hmmmm??? What do you guys think???

I'll believe it when he breaks ground for a dinner theatre. In Branson.
Or Myrtle Beach, now that I think about it ...

The last few years he's only been on the road for 2 weeks at a time, that's what he meant by a 2 week tour. He already did 5 shows last month and 2 this month. He's got other shows scheduled in June, August and September. That's more than 2 weeks.Griz wrote:JB was telling Katie Couric that he's only doing a two week tour this year..

full CRB,,, history!
I don't know, I don't know...
I'm NOT saying he's giving it up entirely.. I bet He does a 2-3 week stay in Vegas with 3 shows a week and you'll never see the full CRB outside of those gigs again.
Just seems like a lot of little hints are out there...

Either that, or the new album will bomb and he will be hustling to pay his bills. You guys don't remember an early Buffett song called "I Had Money One Time," do you?dawgfan wrote:When the new album bombs, then he'll decide to give it up.![]()

Seriously, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he did some sort of Margaritaville - themed club where he would continue to perform. They say that touring is expensive and tough on the entertainers. That's why Branson works -- all of those C&W performers who have been on the road for years were able to kick back.
I can see it now. The main Margaritavilles expand to include an amphitheatre. And Buffett and the CRB play a week here, a week there, and settle in to <name your location> on a year-round basis.
As long as they make Fingers settle his bar tab every week they will be in good shape ...

As for Tour name significance, the new album that will come out is tentatively called Party at the End of the World, which should mean at least another 2-3 years of touring. Furthermore, the song PATEOTW is just another story he can tell about a trip to Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.
Buffett can sell out venues for as long as he lives. He's as popular as ever and draws from a variety of demographics. BN is almost a perfect example. We have BN'rs and parrotheads that live everywhere across North America to Australia to England. And ages vary greatly as well, ranging from teens to well, Larry.
I think the point at which he will retire is when the labors of touring outweigh the $$ and the phun. And trust me, that will be hard to top.
Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I wonder if you see that thing if you were only as close as you were, ETP. We were too far back, and I don't really recall...East Texas Parrothead wrote:Ummmm. Yeah, SGH. I do remember listening the Jazz fest show again, and before OPH Jimmy is yelling something like "I need a time check, write it down, why is that not on the computer?" Then it sounds like Mac yells.. "The things right there!" Then Jimmy comes to the mic and says Aallrriigght!
Computer, teleprompter, machine - whats the difference?
