With all the climate changes going on, waterfalls and wildflowers have good years, bad years and once in a while great years based on snow pack and rain. This year the snow pack, and the waterfalls, went really fast. We only had about 50% of "normal" snow pack this winter. You're right that peak waterfalls are in June, as it's usually closest to spring runoff.http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/waterfalls.htm
From the Eastern Side there another waterfall called Rainbow Falls on the San Joaquin river that very nice, and you can see Devil's Post Pile too.http://www.nps.gov/depo/index.htm
