Bad Concert in Atlanta

Post by Airstream 87 »

Has Buffett become so money hungrey that he is willing to subject fans to bad weather? Atlanta had massive rain and lighting, only those who had seats under cover were dry, most were not. After paying over $126.00 and having to sit in the rain plus the $30.00 for a shirt, I'm not sure I want to continue to be a parrot head. Maybe thats why he didn't play the south for two years.

I'm thinking Jimmy doesn't have a whole lot of control over the weather. Anyone could have left if they felt they needed to. He's played other concerts in the rain for die hard fans. :)

tickets always say rain or shine. the only concert by anyone I can remember that was canceled because of weather was one of Jimmy's a couple of years ago in southern california when some of the roads were flooded and inaccessible, and I think it was law enforcement that probably had some say in canceling that one.

Jimmy has pretty much played "Rain or Shine." Stories of the mamoth rain at a Raleigh concert in the late nineties comes to mind.

During the BHOTM Tour I witnessed mud sliding on the grass in Atlanta, and a very rainy night at Merriweather.

Obviously the person posting this question hasn't been a PH very long, and doesn't go to many concerts.

We sat in the rain in Chicago in 2004, rain doesn't stop the party. And we were there by our own choice.

It rained, complete with thunder and a *lot* of ligthning in Indy 2004. Jimmy and the Reefers took the stage and played their hearts out.

I really don't think anyone minded.

It rained all day in Dallas this year. The lawn was mush.

I really don't think anyone minded.

So, you would have rather he canceled the show?

I think not..............

You don't got to many outdoor shows do you? I've never been to an amphitheatre show that wasn't 'rain or shine' and have it printed on the ticket . If you care enough to go...you should prepare for the weather.

It wasn't a bad concert...you were caught unprepared. The Gods know there is enough to complain about with the marketing machine of JB's at times....but this isn't one of them.

If I had come from out of town for the concert and he cancelled it because of rain, I would be a very unhappy parrothead.

You have to go for the greater good. Most of the people have made special arrangements to be there and maybe couldn't do that some other day...

I was also at the San Diego concert the day after it had to be cancelled because it rained. I was set, ready to go, no matter the weather; however it was called. The San Diego concert was my first one and I've made one from each tour since. By waiting a day, we were given a beautiful present of video taken from the USS Roosevelt where the gang went on their day off to entertain the troops. I'm sure they didn't charge the sailors for that. What is it with the money-hungry thing. If you don't want to buy a ticket...don't. If you do buy a ticket and it rains, go home. We had rain this year in Irvine and I didn't see many people leave. Jimmy just kept wiping himself off with a beach towel and going on. We stayed so he stayed. It's as simple as that. So, what flavor of cheese can I get for you?
