I'm sooo pumped for this show. I went to Alpine Valley for the second time this summer and it was also my second show ever. I'm a second generation PH ever since I was a little guy. Now I understand the tailgate isn't an Alpine Valley experience, but does it still pack a punch? Any tips for a NUb?

Good afternoon Tinley Park Phriends! Sorry I haven't posted much. We had a flood in our office over the weekend and well, to say the least, things are a bit whacked out around here right now!

OK, the Alpine thread still seems to be getting more action than the Chicago one

You sure you want to do that? I wouldn't wish Harvey upon my worst enemy (although it's not as bad as it used to be...) If you can't find Tinley, there are a few nice hotels on the West side of Joliet (off of Houbolt rd) that aren't too far away

Well, Alpine is King! Being from cheeseland, I'm biased, but I will do my part on this thread.
I'll be there cuz I missed all the BN activity at Alpine due to circumstances beyond my control. Have to make up for it!

I have a series of shots I am going to try to stitch into a large panorama.

as a note from looking at them:

a) have someone not in the group, but familiar with the camera take the shots. That way, the photographer can actually be in a shot or two. (Ideally, digital camera with a tripod.. makes the panning on the level easier.)
b) have the photographer get everyone's attention and tell them to "look at the hand" or some other reference point so they are all looking the same direction.
c) at some point, you have to yell, "Sit the *()&* down and stay *()&)*&ing still." it will keep the stitching issues to a minimum.

Tinley Park

Post by Parrothead_Nut »

My first Chicago concert will be this August - I live in Ohio and always go to Cinci. Does anyone have any experience with tailgating at Tinley Park?? We always go all out at Riverbend (Cinci) and want to do the same for Tinley, but I don't want to get there and be shut down right away. Thanks!!
