Thanks.
I believe this remark might also have been typed during a heightened emotional state (and strikes me as being a little further over the line) . . .

Unfortunately, because of that last remark, this thread will be probably be locked and/or deleted. Another exchange of opinions will have been shut down by a few folks who can't seem to discuss differences without quickly reaching the insult-shouting stage.

I guess sometimes the point of such comments is precisely that, ie to get a discussion or debate shut down (thread locked) by making inflammatory remarks, when your own viewpoint doesn't seem to be winning any hearts and minds.

Like I said originally, lots of folks DO support the troops but DO NOT support the action in Iraq. Why is that so hard to understand or accept?

quite the contrary, flyboy, I thought the original intent of the thread was about the impact the Dixie Chicks thoughtless statement made regarding Iraq had had on their career...

seems the consesus is that they still but the cd's...but possibly don't want to see them in person..

perhaps I was out of line what I said to Lightening Bolt....even for tolerable of Okies won't stand for the insult he made about Oklahoma

NOT TO MENTION...the possible insult to Toby Keith...who IS from Oklahoma, also

So if I understand correctly, we all have the right, as Americans, to tell Natalie Maines (or Ann Coulter or Michelle Malkin or Laura Bush) to stop being such a LMB and STFU. We can burn them in effigy and turn our backs on their work.

But BuffettNews is not the same as the United States of America. When we post here we agree to certain restrictions on our freedoms, such as refraining from expressing our opinions about other members if those opinions are intolerant.

I can live with that.

LIKE I SAID...

when you insult a State, you insult the entire population of said state...yeah, I find that intolerable....

If I understand you, Dave, I have to say that I don't give a hoot what anyone's opinions are. All I care about is that when users express their opinion, it doesn't get "personal" or mean spririted.
