The song made so much more sense after visiting West Nashville last year.

West Nashville ...

This song, the LAD 3/4 Time album and its follow-up- A1A are IMHO JB at the top of his game. It would be a narrow, slight, slow, imperceptible slide over 30+ years but there's a wisdom and humor to his story telling in LAD that wasn't so self aware as it is when you're JB- icon, no longer Bubba trying to survive. Another difference, I don't think many of today's fans are familiar with or would sit still for these tunes.
I know Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett is a friend of mine. Son, you're no Jimmy Buffett!

I will say that I do like most of Jimmy's new stuff too, but LAD 3/4 Time and A1A are 2 of my fav's to put in anytime. I love Jimmy's country sound, and I wouldn't sit still for WNGrand Ballroom Gown, I'd be up dancing & singing away!! :D

West Nashville Grand Ballroom Gowns is my second favorite JB song next to Woman Going Crazy on Caroline Street. He did that one last year, so maybe there's hope.
