misunderstood lyrics

Post by pbans »

Did a mini road trip with my daughter today....we were listening to BHOM and singing along....of course....I about drove off the road laughing....she was singing the part "He gave me my first sextant And he taught me how to fly"......

Except she sang it "He gave me my first sex talk and he taught me how to fly".......

It did lead to an educational talk though.......
about sextants.....not the other!

A sextent?

I remember those when I was younger. They came up at the worst times.

Simply ComplicatedI used to think that the words were "Tits and ass and butts" instead of "Ifs and ands and buts"
Oooops :)

The very first time I heard "Fins," I thought he was singing "DANCE to the left, DANCE to the right."

Of course, I always enjoy it when Jimmy messes up the words intentionally. Like the time he was singing "Brown Eyed Girl," he sang "Going down to the old mine, with a tramp and her sister's radio.

And 2000 in Las Vegas, the week before he did the Hawaii concert, when he was singing "Trying To Reason With the Hurricane Season," he sang "In a week I'll be in HAH-Y-EE, that's a mighty long airplane ride."

Tell me the man isn't creative.

Well I’m a tidal pool explorer
From the days of my misspent youth
I believe that down on the beach
Where the seagulls preach
Is where the Chinese buried the truth...

One of my co-workers keets STILL sings it as "Stepped on a pop-tart"
And for the longest time I thought the line from CILCIA was "Yesterday's over for sure - so I can't look back for too long"
