I'm not suprised that it was such a big turn out... They got my money opening day, along with the completely packed theatre full of people for the total sell out for all showings at our theatre in our medium sized town.

I liked the movie, and think that it was nearly, but not quite, as good as the first...

I gave them my money also on opening day! Again, packed theatre in a small/medium size town. It was great fun...several people dressed up like pirates and they even had some swordfighting in front of the theatre! (acting of course! :D )

I also liked #1 better, but am looking forward to #3!

I'll wait a couple weeks until the crowds die down. I never go to a movie during its opening week. I prefer to avoid the crowds.

I hear the ending is very Empire Strikes Backish.

oh, and is there anything after the credits like in the first one?

I'm not telling... It'll ruin the movie. I will say Elizabeth does kiss "Captain" Jack...

You know, I forgot to stay after the credits... I saw it again last night with another friend, and the lovely wife wants me to take her to it, so I'll be sure to find out for you...

We just got back from a Sunday 12:30 show. Not a full house. Really enjoyed it. :D And yes, stay through the credits. :D

We went caught a matinee earlier. It was good flick. Yes there is a part III that has already been filmed. ( I posted that elsewhere).

Was a good crowd. Took a few mins to find an empty seat. ( What was sort of "silly" was they had it showing in two different theaters within the complex...next door to each other. We walked into the wrong one....We thought it had just started and missed part of it. We were finally told by someone I know, we were in the wrong one and wanted the one next door, where it was just starting. We got in and finally found seats and caught all of it until about halfway through the credits.) 8) :pirate:

Rolling Stones Magazine had a interview with Depp, and he said filming STARTS in August (next month).

I will have to find The Bounty site again....it said filming for the third movie was completed. Maybe they just meant the ship scenes.

I think I posted it originally under Flyboy55's original poll about Captain Bligh. There was also a link on tracking The Bounty.

I know they are not filming ship scenes now.....because the ship is still in Boothbay Maine, undergoing refit. There is nothing further scheduled for movies to be filmed for some time.
As for The H.M.S. Bounty and tracking the tallship, and to see her schedule and ports of call go here : http://www.tallshipbounty.org/main.html

Some of the ( if not all of) ship scenes were filmed on location while filming the current playing movie and perhaps during the previous movie. The filming is scheduled to go on through the end of summer 2006 and is scheduled to be released 25 May 2007.

Though expensive maintenance caused the vessel to lose her USCG license for a time, Tall Ship Bounty was restored, initially at the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard in 2002, with restoration of the vessels bottom planking. Moored in its winter home in St. Petersburg, Florida, it again became available for charter, excursions, sail-training and movies (most recently in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, and the 2005 adult parody of Pirates of the Caribbean entitled Pirates). In April of 2006 the Bounty again arrived in Boothbay Harbor for further renovation, a refurbishing of the ship's front end and topside decking. Following this renovation, the Bounty was scheduled to repeat the famous voyage of the original Bounty [1]
