Lovo.
The Fijian version of various meats and roots cooked on hot rocks in an underground oven - i.e. a hole in the ground.
Similar to:
Samoan Umu
Māori Hāngi
Hawaiian Imu
It's a Polynesian/Melanesian thing
It is based on the concept of feeding the village through a shared feast.

Re: What's for dinner?
So let me set the stage....i met my husband when we were in high school. The first thing i ever cooked for him was a pepperoni mushroom pizza and peanut butter bars for dessert. The crust was from a mix etc. I made our scratch pizza for dinner tonight with loads of toppings (see previous post). Hubby said it is hands down the best pizza i have ever made. Mind you we will be celebrating our 36th anniversary this september. Nice to know i can still impress him.

I'm too sexy for my hair

It's a bit of a cop out, really...taking keet back to school tomorrow so I won't have time for or feel like making dinner. So tonight's leftovers will be tomorrow's pasta sauce.VanillaGrl wrote:*drool* !!!!!lime rickie wrote:Healthy!VanillaGrl wrote:Hubby's in TX for a few days, so I'm on my own. Tonights dinner:

Re: What's for dinner?
Hmmm...these are sweet, almost caramel-like. I think what some people don't like about them is the texture. Most textures don't bother me, though. I don't eat them all the time, but they are a nice little snack now and again and do satisfy me when I want something sweet.SMLCHNG wrote:Thank you.VanillaGrl wrote:I had a feeling...SMLCHNG wrote:lime rickie wrote:Maybe Elrod is Irish?tailgaitingph wrote: What's "Irish bananas"?![]()

Re: What's for dinner?
Figured I should cook something today so I'd have something to take to work for lunch tomorrow.
Kind of a late lunch/early dinner today.
My version of spinach salad. Actually, I have lots of spinach and lots of cuties on hand, it just kinda took off from there.

Ground venison spaghetti, oven roasted asparagus with garlic and olive oil and a glass of moscato.
