Sail on Adella Mulligan

Not to take away fron the previous posted thread http://www.buffettnews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50699 but I believe we need to acknowledge Mark's loss because it's probably not going to make the network news.
I learned about Mark Mulligan in this forum and have become a huge fan of his, I just received this E-mail that he lost his wife in a car wreck and his two sons are injured as well. He is a great entertainer and a family man.
Dear friends,
After experiencing such a wonderful time with Mark Mulligan and all of
our
guests at the house concert on Sunday, it is with great sadness I pass
on
this tragic news to you. As a few of us were sitting around relaxing
after
the concert Sunday evening with Mark, he received a phone call
informing him
that his wife Adella and his two young sons were involved in a terrible
automobile accident in Guaymas, Mexico (town located next to San
Carlos).
Apparently a man vacationing in the area from Denver had a heart
attack,
lost control of his car, crossed the median and crashed into the
vehicle
Adella was driving. The Denver man was killed instantly and Adella
passed
away in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Mark's boys were both
seriously injured in the accident, and the youngest one, Luis (18
months),
is in critical condition with swelling in his skull. Mark's five year
old
son Marcos has two broken legs as well as other injuries. While it is
still
too early to tell, it seems that Marcos's injuries may not be life
threatening, but we do not know yet about little Luis. (you can see
pictures
of Mark's beautiful family under the photo tab on his website,
www.markmulligan.net).
Needless to say the news from the phone call was devastating and simply
incomprehensible to Mark. As you can imagine, considering the wonderful
experience of the day, this kind of tragic news would just not compute
in
our brains. Everyone was crushed and in total shock. The shocking irony
to
this story is that just moments earlier, at the concert, Mark sang his
brand
new song for all of us, which he had just finished recording in
Nashville
for his soon to be released new album. Basically the song is a story
about
how important family is (should be) to all of us. Indeed, he had just
told
us about how his beautiful wife Adella and his two young sons, were so
precious and so important to him.
We immediately booked flights on line for Mark to return home.
Fortunately I
was able to offer some support by accompanying him part of the way
home.
Three of Mark's brother's were on the way from Phoenix to meet him as
he
arrived at the hospital in Hermosillo, Mexico, where his wife and sons
were
taken after the accident. One of his brothers will be staying with Mark
for
a week or so. When I left him, Mark was stable, but again, as you can
imagine, still in a state of disbelief about this unfolding tragic
event.
Mark said he was hoping to get a "blanket" email out to all of his
friends
within a day or so, to let them know about what is going on.
As many of you now know after attending the concert, Mark is a very
special
and loving person. And as you could probably tell, Mark is a man with a
strong faith in God. He acknowledges his God given talents and he is
consciously using them to "bloom where he is planted", as a laborer in
the
"fields". As we parted today, Mark asked that we all pray for the soul
of
his dear wife Adella, and for the quick and complete recovery of his
two
sons, Luis & Marcos.
FYI, there is a website called www.vivasancarlos.com which contains a
bulletin board where Mark's friends are posting information about this
tragic situation. (click on the left side menu tab "what's new &
board").
Chances are at some point Mark may also provide information on his
website
www.markmulligan.net.
Many people are asking about a memorial to contribute to or an address
for
Mark. This information is not yet available, but may become known in
the
next day or so. Things are still unfolding regarding this tragic event
and
more details are still coming out. I will continue to communicate with
you
as I learn more of the details. In the mean time, would you please
pray for
Mark and his precious family.
Thank you, and God bless.
