What's your favorite travel song?
Here's a contest to enter for most interesting road-trip anthem.

Quote:
"Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude" by Jimmy Buffett: In 1977, before he became the living embodiment of aloha shirts and umbrella drinks, Jimmy Buffett released a great album about travel. It beautifully captures the yearning for Paris when you're drunk on red wine; the last, lovely moments of a sunset cruise; and the pathos of expatriate Americans trying to live it up in Latin America. You could pick just about any song from the album -- even "Margaritaville" -- but I'm going with the title track because it evokes the pangs I always feel when I read airport departure boards.
I couldn't get Biloxi out of my mind last week. I guess my favorite travel song depends on where I'm traveling to.
Coast is Clear is a super travel song too.

Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner - Warren Zevon
I don't remember how the tradition got started but it's a given that on any road trip it will get played multiple times. Back when my now 20-something kids were in grade school, they knew all the words and sang along (usually thru 3 or 4 repeats). I'm not sure what that says about our parenting skills.

I like to start out my road trips with some AC/DC "Highway to Hell." It's sort of my "personal tradition."

Depends on where I'm going. Definately some of the ones listed above but when I was married to my first husband and we were going to see my ex MIL it was "Highway to Hell"
funny now she and I get along better than ever

Used to drive the Keys back in the 70's listening to BTO...think it was "Roll on down the Highway", can't remember the exact name, still have that one on my road tape. Also lots of Loggins and Messina for traveling.
