. .ummm . .

. .to give you the Reader's Digest version . . and in my opinion . .

. .it's a story of a " musician " that goes out on the road . . leaves someone in charge of house-sitting while he's gone . .

. . they take advantage of his place . . a party erupts . . musician comes back to find the place trashed . .

. .in Jimmy's words . . " this could happen to YOU " . .and as the story goes . .

. .it happened to HIM . .! !

. .
. . " and I finally disappear . . . . BUT NOT YET ! ! "

As I recall, Jimmy recounted the story behind this song when he appeared on the Texas Connection some years ago. He was living in Aspen at the time and went on the road. While he was on the road his house sitting buddies threw a party or two and along the way drank most of the booze in the house. In order to keep the party going they decided to send some girls to the store to get more beer. As the girls were backing down the driveway they apparently had some issues with the steering and braking of the car and managed to crash it into the creek. When Jimmy got back he asked Snake what had happened. Snake asked how did Jimmy know that something happened, Jimmy replied that the tire tracks leading to the creek were a give away.

That's a summary of what I recall.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :D

Great story! Jimmy may have some crazy stunts in his past, but I don't recall he's ever been particularly stupid....
