Thanks for the link. :D
I'm not a big fan of that board. It's like a lot of others..."YOUR TEAM S*CKS" "YOU GUYS CHEAT" "YOU WOULDN"T HAVE WON IF IT WERENT FOR THE REFS"....Too many jackasses for my liking.

Uh, Oh!!! Believe me, Melly...you do NOT want that kind of respect. In case you have not heard, there is truly a Sports Illustrated curse!!! You had better knock on wood real quick or every one of those guys on that cover will...I don't know what...but it isn't pretty!! 8) :D
I tend to follow this line of thinking....

While the list of "examples" of the jinx is extensive, an individual record 49 cover appearances by Michael Jordan, team record 61 covers by the New York Yankees, and school record of 99 covers by the UCLA Bruins have not hindered their success.

ok let me rephrase...first EXCLUSIVE SI cover. Notice the top says cheer cheer for old Notre Dame.

Yes, WVU was the #1 party school when I was enrolled, then dropped to #14, but we're gaining speed again. If WVU would ever win a national championship, God help all the couches.

• UCONN: "Were no Florida State. Yet. But our Football Team is on the Rise and we live in the woods where all there is to do is PARTY."

• Dude, dude....wait just a minute here! UCONN should be the undisputed #1 party school in the country!!! On any night of the week (and i do mean any night), you can walk into 10 different wild parties at 10 different spots on or around campus. Dont forget, Spring Weekend at UCONN is the WILDEST partying on earth. If you've never been, let me give you an idea.....Thursday night is the first night where Carriage Housing Community packs in 20-25,000 people into the streets, the woods, and the houses. Friday night is next at Celeron Housing where the crowd has been increased to around 30-35,000 screaming drunken maniacs. Last but not least, Saturday finishes out the weekend in X Lot, a huge parking lot with hundreds of kegs feeding the needs of anywhere from 45-50,000 kids with enough alchohol in their systems to kill a team of clydesdales! Oh yeah...by the way, I believe Playboy Magazine has a list like this one and, if i remember correctly, UCONN was ranked #1 2 years running. On the third year, UCONN wasnt even on the list but there was a footnote at the bottom of the page that read as follows: "The University of Connecticut has been removed from this list because it is unfair to put professional amongst amatures." HA! TAKE THAT BOYEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Shooter McGavin

This is off a Party school site!!

i am a UCONN season tickeyt holder....we are young ....we are hungy .......and we are getting a lot better every year!!!......They just completed a Practice facility that is second to non!!....and are starting to steal some recruits from eastern schools!

right. I think you're right. Major Harris was undoubtedly a great football player who didn't really do much after that. I met him last year. When we played UCONN for the first time, they set up the game for the Mountaineer Maniacs (student group) on a huge screen at a theater downtown. Major Harris showed up for it and I got his autograph. He is still the man around here.

Major Harris--that's a blast from the past. I remember going to the '89 Gator Bowl when Clemson played WVU.......I remember chanting "Maaaaa-jor" over and over again. Good times. :D

I gotta pull for the 'Neers though.....good to see our boy Rich having success there.

I think part of the high expectations are based on the favorable schedule. Their nonconference run isn't too tough, and the Big East isn't all that tough this year. WVU could get through this without a loss. I think a lot of college football fans have 11/02 circled. It's ashame thats a Thursday game.

No doubt that the out of conference schedule for WVU is lacking...and I was all set to "hoot" on the Mountaineers but I took a look at future year schedules and it looks promising. I see that in '08 and '09 WVU does home and home with Auburn! Line me up some tickets for the '09 game in Morgantown Melli!! They also do home & home with Michigan State in 2010 & 2011 (stomp those evil Spartys for me) and will get OLD MAN Bowden in 2012 & 2013! :o Cool!!
