A question was posed that would the Patriots game against the Lions be considered a trap game? Well DUH!!! Yes it would.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

That could go down as one of the worst trades this century? NY got Eli Manning and SD ended up with Phillip Rivers, LB Shawne Merriman and K Nate Kaeding, a steal for the Chargers.

Aghhh I think I would put Scott Pioli up there ahead of him. AJ Smith has made some good trades but have any of his teams won a playoff game in the last few years?TheSecretsInTheCrust wrote:AJ Smith is the best GM in the NFLCaptainP wrote:So was Mike Vick in exchange for LaDanien Tomlinson, Rechee Caldwell, and Tim Dwight. OK, I have played football, watch football, but do not really do the whole fantasy football, aside from the survival one we did here. When you say trap in a football context I think of a play where the guard from one side of the ball pulls around the center and blows out the linebacker making a hole for the running back. What, pray tell, is a trap game?aeroparrot wrote:A question was posed that would the Patriots game against the Lions be considered a trap game? Well DUH!!! Yes it would.

Mindless trivia that I can't find the answer to anywhere, or at least I don't know where to look, so I'm checking with the experts at BN --
When a FG is attempted, and the ball is placed in-between the 32 and 33 yard lines (for example), is it a 42 or 43 yard attempt? Or could it be either, depending on the official scorer?

A trap game is when an opponent is looking past what is considered an easy game to next week's oppenent which would be a much tougher game and usually a divisional opponent.green1 wrote:OK, I have played football, watch football, but do not really do the whole fantasy football, aside from the survival one we did here. This could be considered a trap game for New England because they are playing Detroit (easy non division opponent) and may be concentrating more on their next game which is Miami (tough division opponent).
Its just another stupid term sportscasters use. It basically gives New England an excuse to lose to Detroit when the have Miami coming up next week.
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.

When a really good team looks at the record of the team their playing that week (usually that team has a REALLY bad record --- Pats are 8 and 3; Lions are 2 and 9). The Pats may think they won this game already and look forward to the next big game (usually against an arch rival or another winning team). When this happens, the team will do horribly.green1 wrote:OK, I have played football, watch football, but do not really do the whole fantasy football, aside from the survival one we did here. It is actually a 49 yard field goal (32 yards to the end zone, 10 yards to the goal post and 7 yards from the center to the holder).chippewa wrote:Mindless trivia that I can't find the answer to anywhere, or at least I don't know where to look, so I'm checking with the experts at BN --

You know, if he practices really hard, I think this LaDanien Tomlinson guy could actually turn into a decent NFL player....
Just busted a 51 yard TD run. He has 86 yards in the first quarter today. He only needs 3 more touchdowns to break the all time record for a season, and has almost 5 games to do that in.

The Colts played one quarter of football today.
Rex Grossman looks like a fool with the football these days. Late in today's game his passer rating was 0.0. Pretty soon Bear fans will be chanting "Orton!"

I am a Bears fan, but this is a 10-2 team that does not instill a lot of confidence right now.

I saw the Bears game and I agree, Rex Grossman played like his name. If he doesn't improve his play, the Bears will not go past the first round and if they do, they won't get to the Super Bowl.Quiet and Shy wrote:The Colts played one quarter of football today.![]()

Disasterous loss for the Colts today:Quiet and Shy wrote:The Colts played one quarter of football today.![]()

*The run defense was awful, over 200 yards
"They coudn't tackle anybody
*Everybody chasing them won
*A horrrible call and non-reversal on a TD by the Titans that should have been down at the 1 yard line
"If they didn't take the timeout before the winning kick, the Titans would have punted the ball
So many more reasons, but the Colts deserved to lose this one.

Happy to see them lose. Although, I could have used more points from Manning, Harrison and Wayne.Zuke wrote:Disasterous loss for the Colts today:Quiet and Shy wrote:The Colts played one quarter of football today.![]()

The Colts have had they share of "Questionable" calls that have gone their way this season which led to TD's for them. Karma!Zuke wrote:Disasterous loss for the Colts today:Quiet and Shy wrote:The Colts played one quarter of football today.![]()
