Picked mine up yesterday at Target for $15...after the Camden show was done I watched both discs, but none of the bonus footage. I thought the 5.1 sounded great and the all of the shots of the band were also great. Thanks Jimmy! :D

I bought my copy for $14.99 at Target yesterday. Hopefully that's a national price so you can buy yours' for a few bucks cheaper.

Later . . . Joe

I went to Best Buy and it wasn't on sale there, was $24. I didn't have a Target (to pricematch) add so I told them no thanks, and went up the street and bought it at Target. I LOVE this DVD, out of the 500+ that I own, this is my absolute favorite. It brought back some great memories of the concert for me, and in the Murphy's Bleachers shots, I'm about 3 feet off to the right of the screen  The 5.1 DD sound is superb!!! Haven't watched any of the extras yet, but overall this is a must have for Buffett fans.

Jeez, I don't want to sound like a phony phan, but I wasn't overwhelmed. Granted, I only made it about halfway through the first disk yesterday, but I was dissappointed by Jimmy. (Don't start swinging!!!)

I was really looking forward to Last Mango and Woman Goin Crazy, and I thought he just sang them strange. Over sang? Tried too hard? I don't know, but they didn't sound right.

OK, let the tomato throwing begin!!!

I'm going to try again Friday, this time to sit back a relax and watch it ALL with a Boat Drink (or five!). Perhaps yesterday was just a little too much to do in to little an amount of time.

I can understand your disappointment to a point, however, if you are looking to any of Jimmy's live stuff to be spot on you should go to the studio stuff. They have to "over sing" just in the same way that actors on a stage have to over act, it puts more emotion into the event. The great thing about the live stuff is remebering what you were doing while you were there listening live. It's a time capsule of sorts that you can keep looking back upon with the same starstruck eyes you had when you were there in the moment. One more thing, a few boat drinks and/or a Corona or two makes Jimmy sing more in tune.

IT ROCKS!!!!

Hey there ioiphead,

That's the thing, I usually prefer certain artists live. The songs have more magic. Springsteen "My Love Will Not Let You Down" is a perfect example, as well as "It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City". With Jimmy, two of my favorite songs are the live versions of "Last Mango" and "OPH" (Feeding Frenzy). When I saw "Mango" was on this I was like "woo-ho!". Which, after watching, became, hmm, oh well.

Guess "You Had to Be There".

I'll be busting out the Boat Drink tomorra, and we'll see.

a couple days later and I'm noticing a tiny little corner bend on the cover of my dvd packaging/box. Don't know how it got there but it was not there when I bought it and I've tried to be carful. This is one of the things I do not like about these paper pakaging for dvds as well as cds.
I know it's cheaper for the artist but I wish it could have been in a dvd case like Mini Matinee.

Disc 2 is my favorite one.
I'm not a big fan of daytime performances anyway whcih is the main reason that I like disc 2 better. It just seems better that way.
Oh, and there's not enough Reeferette dancing on the dvd although this may have been the case for the whole tour. Sadly, I missed that tour.

And I agree with the above comments, Last Mango was a little lackluster although I like Caroline Street.

But all petty crap aside I like it a lot!!!

SouthernSeas wrote:Got the DVD today and watched it this afternoon. I was very impressed by the footage of the DVD -- very UNIMPRESSED by the sound. The concert sounds like a bootlegged DVD...serously. Alot of the band is muted and I can barely here the sax. They could have done a better job on the sound quality.

Live By The Bay still leads. How come they couldn't match the sound quality to Live By The Bay. You notice a big difference in audio between the two.
You have your disc setup to play on Dolby 5.1? Do you have additional external speakers or were you relying on your TV itself for sound? I only ask because when I watched it I ran the sound through our Bose surround system with the 5.1 turned on, and found that the quality is far superior to that of "Fenway" and the other "Live at..." albums from recent years.

But the DVD itself was incredible. I put that concert DVD at the top of my concert DVD list, right along with AC/DC's "Live at Donington" as my all-time favorites (as well as Roy Orbison's PBS special "A Black and White Night", which unfortunately I only have DVR'd). The DVD captured a lot of the feeling and emotion in those performances, as well as the electricity surrounding the entire event city-wide. Very-well done. Buffett seems to like the DVD thing, so hopefully all of his albums from now on will have little bonus DVDs. I would pay the extra $5 per album for bonuses like, gee, I dunno, the "HERE WE ARE" VIDEO for example. :D

Ok, I ordered my copy through MLB.com and since it was backordered they sent me an email with a link to some of the songs for free. I watched two or three and they are awesome! I can't wait to get the entire DVD.
