Try Bacardi 8 on the rocks. You will NEVER want to drink another makers rum again!
Sorry, I would have agreed with you a few years ago, but now it's Appleton Estate Extra (12 year old) for me.
Cruzan single barrel estate rum or Ron Barrilitos 3 star rum (available in Puerto Rico)

Appleton also has a 21 year old, but I haven't tried that yet. I do like the Cruzan (I have a bottle in the cupboard), but I'm not sold on the Ron Barrilitos.
By not sold you mean not wanting to try? Trust me it's very good. I didn't know Appleton had a 21yr I just got into the Appleton at all. For years I didn't drink much rum. We went to Puerto Rico 2004 I got hooked.
No, I brought a bottle back from Puerto Rico about 4 years ago and wasn't too impressed. Don't know what it was about it, but it just didn't work for me. I wasn't a big Appleton fan until a couple of years ago, but once I tried the Extra (12 year old) I've really like it.

I've liked rum for about 30 years and one of my all-time favourites was Bacardi 1873, but I don't know if you can get it in the States.
I wanted to buy a bottle of special reserve Bacardi when I toured the distillery. They said because of it's flamability that you couldn't take it on the plane. I say BS but whatever. Ron Barrilitos is great sipping with a PR Don Collins cigar. My bro in law likes Barbencourt a lot. I will have to try the other "aged" Appleton's. Thanks for that.
When they run you out of town make it look like you are leading the parade.
