Who is your guilty pleasure artist???

Post by blackjacks wife »

Fresh off the very hot concert in Camden, Blackjack and I just scored 1st row box seats to see Lyle Lovett in Princeton, NJ.

I must say that we have seen Lyle 4 or 5 times now and he has to be one of the best live artists. His music is fun and interactive, his stories are frekking ha-larry-ious and his "Large Band" are superbly talented artist.

Lyle is a secret we like to keep to overselves. Selfishly, we don't want anyone else to hear about him because we don't want his concerts to sell out too quickly to insure that we get seats.

How about you??? Do you have an artist that you don't let your friends know that you like for one reason or another???

I *so* get Lyle. Have since he hit Austin in the early '80's. I'm going to see him in Crockett in November. He is divine in person.

AC/DC - no matter how crappy of a day I'm having, AC/DC comes on the radio, and I'm singing and jamming along and the day is no longer that bad. Putting it in the ipod helps (I have all 170 ever commercially released on there) but the radio is even better b/c its like an unexpected treat!

Crockett Civic Center - November 4 - 7:30 p.m.

You coming? There's a GREAT Mexican Restaurant in Crockett. We could meet (not meat) for dinner.

Locally, I try to catch the Bellamy Brothers when they come through about twice a year. My friend checks their tour schedule and we usually try to get tickets as soon as they go on sale.

They sell out pretty quickly. Gonna miss em this time because we waited too long.

They kinda remind me of Buffett. It's fun to see a couple of old guys get up on stage and sing the kinds of songs they sing and appeal to an audience of all ages...standing...singing and dancing along to every word.

They are so UPBEAT and happy and the band is entertaining too.
