Your top 3 locations for a Buffett concert

I'm curious on what the people who've seen Jimmy in a few different places think what the top 3 places are for a concert.

The Rules:
(1) You must have seen him in at least four different venues.
(2) They must be shows you've seen in the last 10 years.
(3) Explain your ordering

Thanks in advance!

1. Pine Knob (Clarkston, MI) 1993: Chameleon Caravan Tour.
My first show of very many!

3. Wrigley Field, Chicago, ILL 2005: Two of the best Labor Day weekend shows.

2. Jacob's Field, Cleveland, OH Aug of 1995. Domino College Tour, tribute to the passing of Jerry Garcia. What a show!

4. Many years, a handful of tour names at Riverbend in Cincinnati. All Parrotheads have to make a trip here!

Fins up!!

Coors Ampitheater - Chula Vista, CA

The venue is beautiful!
The tailgate was awesome!
Definitely laid back. We walked in the venue at 10 minutes before show time, found a place in the first 20 yards of the lawn and enjoyed the show. The people on the lawn were having fun without negatively impacting their neighbors.
... and I got up and went to the beach the next morning. 8)

It's a long way to number 2 & 3 on the list.

Dallas Starplex (Smirnoff) - Three times in the last seven years - sixth row, last row and out on the lawn - not a bad seat in the place. The Texas hospitality in the parking lot tops everything but San Diego.

The World in Tinley Park. Four times in the last eight years. Even at the show rescheduled after 9/11, the police were not as bad as their reputation. In some cases they were fun to have around.

favorite sightlines - Alpine
The lawn is huge, yet you can see the stage and video screens really well

favorite tailgating - Orlando
The parking lot opens up the night before the concert! :o
people bring their boats into the north lot and party on them all day

The place that Jimmy Buffett has performed more than any other location in his career (44, I think) ... Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland ... awaiting his return in 2007 !

Okay... I'll base mine on my experiences so far on this tour and then do an overall

This tour:

1. GreatWoods
2. Alpine
3. Jones Beach
4. Irvine

Greatwoods was unbelievable on Thursday. Definitely a great crowd and great group of people. Alpine definitely did give GW a run for its money. Jones Beach was just beautiful and an amazing arena. Irvine, despite the fact we couldn't get into the lot until 2 was great. met some fun people (and lost the people I was with!!!)

Overall:

1. GreatWoods - still the best parking lot and I've seen a lot of parking lots now
2. Fenway - it was just awesome seeing Jimmy at Fenway, being a die hard sox fan. (Heck, I loved the Dave Matthews concert there too - nothing like a Fenway Park Pub Crawl!)
3. Vegas - different experience because of the street party, but had an amazing time (and went backstage so that was quite an experience in itself. And it was my sister's first buffett show - quite memoriable!)
4. Alpine - just a fun group of people out there!

1. New Orleans - be it JazzFest, Margaritaville Cafe, or the New Orleans Arena. I love this city and Jimmy just makes it better!

2. Las Vegas - the whole city becomes a pre-party! Awesome parties thrown by Las Vegas Parrot Head Club, Margaritaville and MGM.

3. Santa Barbara Bowl - incredible venue overlooking Santa Barbara and the Pacific. Small, intimate and a great show. The only downfall is no tailgating...so the Santa Barbara Parrot Head Club threw one helluva pre-party!

Honorable mention: San Diego!

1. Maui Arts and Cultural Center - Chairs instead of stadium seats .... GRASS under your feet .... wide aisles .... REAL palm trees ..... trade winds .... 3,000 people, tops.

2. Waikiki Shell - More of a stadium, but still magic.

3. Dallas - Because it's home. Image

Great choices, ETP. Never been to a Hawaii show.

Love Dallas and Smirnoff too and the Woodlands, because it's home.

I really hope Jimmy will do a regular concert in New Orleans again. It's been such a long time. It was so much fun to see parrotheads all over the city.
