It was great to hear live. He mentioned that the song may have a few things wrong with it because it is a work in progress.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

Can't hear the words very well, but it's got the right rhythm...

I'll be listening to this over and over till I get it right.

First impressions are the best, and this one is a winner. Image

He doesn't have alot of time to finish it off...they want to release the video before the CD release in October (and give it time for airplay) to boost CD sales.... (aside from the usual Parrotheads who always buy the CD).
Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

So here's a link to the jesse winchester site and the lyrics to "nothing but a breeze." JB covers a lot of guys and winchester has written quite a few songs that you'll recognize if you check out his site.

http://www.jessewinchester.com/nothing.shtml

hope that clears up a lot of curiosity about the song
Now I've got a terminal daydream,
That's something you'll never know
I keep it right here in my backpack, mon
And I take it wherever I go.

Cutting this was probably Jimmy's idea

If you remember the LTC tour they cut
the new songs out before the cd came out
No act of kindness
no matter how small
is ever wasted

I'm sure at Jimmy's request/demand.

Album/video in 2 months...only reason why...IMHO :)

This is, imho, just about a perfect country song. I am certainly no expert on that. But I do love the song. Of course, we all wish Jimmy wrote everything he records but when he doesn't write them, he picks them very well. He has a great talent for digging up good songs by other writers that he can make his own.

These lyrics are pretty close:

At the BAMA BREEZE, you can shoot some pool down there, you can act a fool down there, you can play it cool down there
At the BAMA BREEZE, you can drink some beer down there, argue laugh and cheer down there, pass another year down there

Jimmy got caught, smoking a joint out behind the bar, sittin' in his car, and they took him to jail - the tip jar paid his bail
In 1984 Mick Jagger passed through town, bought the house a round, signed his name on the wall, in the ladies' bathroom stall

At the BAMA BREEZE, I turned twenty-one down there, had too much fun down there, stumbled out with the sun down there.

Saturday night, the bouncer, Brady, lets the ladies in free, with a fake ID and a short enough skirt - yeah, figures what the hell could it hurt
Second set, the owner Lulu gets up with the band, a beer in her hand, and sings Free Bird slow, then she raises a toast - "here's to Ronny and the boys - now everybody make some noise"

At the BAMA BREEZE, you're one of our own down there, you never drink alone down there, good god I feel at home down there [repeat]
No more wine for Uncle Fred...

super job there on those lyrics, backbeat and JIMMY! :)

Thanks dand1996.

Surprised the lyrics didn't have something about the sunset. We saw some great ones down there!!!

Love the verse about Lulu singing Freebird. I remember the song Me Bobby McGee getting sung quite a bit too.

You can see the writers of this song at the Bluebird in Nashville

http://www.bluebirdcafe.com/schedule/ev ... 2006-08-24

6:00 In The Round with Chris Tompkins, Josh Kear, Mark Irwin and Jason Isabell, no cover. Early shows at the Bluebird usually feature the best up and coming songwriters. They may not have a lot of hits
yet, but you will see a great show. Mark Irwin is a former Bluebird bartender who went on to write ³Here in the Real World², to kick off Alan Jackson¹s career.

Josh Kear's web site has some songs to listen to.
