Post by u2hibby »

I have just finished uploading my recording of the 2006.08.12 Boston MA Show.

It was recorded off of Sirius and is in MP3 format (320 Kbps)

*** I do have the original Flac files available and would like to torrent them (Need a good torrent site suggestion) ***

You can download it from the following FTP server

To log in go to:

FTP Site: bootlegs.jimmydreamz.com
User ID: jimmy_upload
Password: buffett

**You no longer need to set a port
**In order to download shows it's best to use a FTP program. There are several available at Download.com. We recommend using WSFTP.

**You can log in using your default settings, the port is no longer required. The ftp site is now much quicker and will allow many more users and will provide you with great access 24 hours a day. Thanks to Stoney and ParrotDoc for setting this up.

*** If you don't know how to FTP read this:

http://www.ftpplanet.com/ftpresources/basics.htm

I find that it is much easier to download files using an FTP client (software) than it is using your internet browser.

Here is a free FTP software I found on downloads.com (Use at own risk, I have have not used this program before)

http://www.download.com/SmartFTP-Client ... ag=lst-6-1

Take care.....

Jason

Jason:

Thanks so much for doing this for us. You rock. I have downloaded several shows from your site onto my iPod . . . it's so easy.

OK, I'm getting frustrated. Is anyone else having trouble downloading ONLY "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" from both Mansfield shows--8/10 and 8/12?? Every other tune comes across fine.

I'm no computer head, but it seems that the apostrophe in "it's" is causing the problem. Why? Because the song is listed only as "It" when I see it. There's no mp3 extension on it either. All the other songs have full titles and an mp3 extension.

Well, if you're reading this and were successful in downloading that song from either of the shows, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could shoot it over to me. I'm at DoctorDuk@aol.com.

Thanks.

Jason: thanks so much for doing this !!

...I have not been able to access 5 o'clock either... Something like "file not available".

I'm particularly interested in the 8/10 show. A fix would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Just a question for those having a problem...

Are you using an FTP program, rather than trying to open the folders directly?

I use a different program than what Jason recommends, but I haven't had any problem downloading any of his files using an FTP client.

Switched to FireFTP (add on to Firefox) and grabbed it no problem.

It exists. You need to have firefox installed, download fireftp and restart the browser. When you are ready, FIREFTP will be in "tools".

Hey. Still won't work. I can't do anything with the FireFTP download. Won't open or anything. I'm on OSX 10.3.9. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Think I got it. You have to open the downloaded file from within FireFox.

When I opened FireFox this morning it updated itself. Make sure you have the newest version (mine is 1.5.0.6). I am also an OS version behind (10.2.x)

You can download it from FireFox...comes in as QuickTime player...plays while downloading...then "Save As" and it "downloads" again in a download window.(just dropped mine to a desktop folder). I was able to get everything but 5:00 Somewhere and switched to FireFtp - which was a "single" download process, and much faster, but required a little learning. Without changing any setting, it was parking the mp3 files in the HardDrive.

Man, I am lost! Using regular FireFox is easy. I hit the FTP site, open the folder and drag one song at a time into the downloads window. Um...how exactly do I use FireFTP? Any help on specifically what to do would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to hit the Buffett FTP sites and be able to download the shows.

Oh, and if I haven't mentioned it recently, I have a bunch of shows to trade or just to send to people who want them. My list is floating around in this forum. Just hit me with an AOL IM at DoctorDuk and I'll help you out.

1. Make sure FireFox is latest version and FireFtp is installed.
2. Open FireFox
3. Go to TOOLS, select FireFTP

4. In FireFTP, the left side shows your machine, the right is empty (I think)

5. enter the download/ftp site in the address bar (I don't remember which side - I did it this morning and saved it, so I'm not sure how I did it, just play around a bit.

Once you do it correctly, the right side of FireFTP shows the directory and you can click on the folder you want.

It downloaded the mp3 right to the hard drive.

Good Luck.
